Yes. The Oatey 23000 lead free wire solder is formulated for plumbing and potable water line applications, and it meets ASTM Standard B32 along with the requirements of the Safe Water Drinking Act. That is the alloy you want on domestic water copper, not a leaded 50/50.
2) Will this Oatey lead free solder work on aluminum tubing?
No. The 23000 solder is not recommended for aluminum. It is a copper, bismuth, tin and silver alloy meant for copper and copper alloy plumbing joints. For aluminum you need a dedicated aluminum brazing or soldering alloy with its own flux.
3) Does lead free solder like this go bad sitting in the van over a season?
No. Oatey lists unlimited shelf life on the 23000 wire solder, so a partial roll left in a truck box or on a shop shelf is still good next season. The flux you pair with it is the item with the shorter life, not the wire.
