Horizontal refers to the outlet direction: the flange body turns the connection out the back to a horizontal 2 inch line, which is how most wall-hung urinals are roughed in through a stud wall. A standard closet-style flange with a vertical outlet drops straight into the floor and will not serve that back-outlet wall rough-in.
5) Will the Oatey 43543 work on cast iron or ABS urinal rough-in?
It is a PVC-body flange with a PVC spigot, so it solvent welds to PVC. Cast iron needs a transition coupling to PVC ahead of it, and ABS requires ABS-to-PVC transition cement or a mechanical coupling, since ABS and PVC are not the same solvent system.
