OATEY 72354 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) How big is the grate on the Oatey 72354 floor drain, and what is it made of?
It comes with an 8 inch cast nickel bronze grate with a round top. The cast metal strainer is what makes it suitable for traffic areas rather than the plastic strainers used on residential shower and laundry drains.
2) Can the Oatey 72354 drain be adjusted to finished floor height after the slab is poured?
Yes. The 72354 is an adjustable commercial drain, so the strainer assembly can be set to the finished floor level rather than fixed at the height of the drain body, which is what you need when tile or topping goes over the slab.
3) Is the Oatey 72354 drain a PVC or cast iron body?
The body is PVC, with cast nickel bronze used only for the grate. That means solvent-weld PVC connections at the outlet rather than no-hub or caulked joints, so plan the rough-in for PVC DWV.
4) What does the Oatey 72354 floor drain weigh for shipping and handling?
Listed product weight is 4 lb, which is one-man handling on a cart or in a tool bag for a rough-in.
