OATEY 72336 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the Oatey 72336 drain adjustable for finished floor height?
Yes, it is an adjustable commercial drain, so the top assembly sets to the finished floor after the body is set in the slab. That is the reason to pick it over a fixed-height drain: on a concrete pour where the topping thickness is not final until the tile or membrane goes down, you set the grate flush at the end instead of guessing at rough-in.
2) What is the grate on the Oatey 72336 made of, and will it hold up to traffic?
Cast nickel bronze, 6 inch round. Cast NI grates are the standard commercial choice where a plastic or chrome-plated strainer would not survive, so it suits mechanical rooms, kitchens, locker rooms and other areas that see carts, foot traffic and cleaning chemicals. The round top keeps the grate rotatable, which matters if you want the slot pattern oriented a particular way in a tile field.
3) Does the Oatey 72336 come with the grate, or is that ordered separately?
The grate is included. The 72336 is sold as the drain body with the 6 inch cast nickel bronze grate and round top together, so there is no separate strainer line item to add to the order.
