Paxton Entry Door Entry System, Premium Monitor with Handset, Full Duplex, 7in Color LED Touch Screen, 800 x 480, 16:9, TCP/IP, PoE, FCC, White

Entry is a door entry system that works standalone or alongside Paxton’s Net2 access control, combining door entry with key features of Net2 or as part of our access control and video management solution, Paxton10. Entry consists of 3 components that auto-detect on set up; external panel, interior monitor and door control unit. Entry is a plug and play solution that comes with a range of panel options and is suitable for a wide variety of sites. The entry premium monitor comes either with or without a handset, and can be wall or desk mounted. Entry components simply interconnect using Cat5 or standard RJ45 terminated patch cables. Entry can also utilize existing network infrastructure for simple installation. PoE technology runs power and data along the same cable to avoid the need for separate power supplies. A visitor initiates a video call via the bell button on the external panel. Visitor access can be granted via the entry premium monitor, which features an intuitive capacitive touchscreen user interface.

Paxton Access Inc 337-292-US – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Does the Paxton Entry premium monitor need its own power supply, or will PoE run it?
PoE runs it. The Entry premium monitor takes Power over Ethernet to IEEE 802.3af class 0, so power and data ride the same Cat5 run and you don't pull separate low-voltage power to each monitor. Budget 3.2 W average and 4.5 W max per monitor when sizing the switch or injector.
2) How far can I run the cable from the door panel to the Paxton Entry monitor?
100 m (328 ft) per TCP/IP Ethernet segment, using CAT5 or standard RJ45 terminated patch cable. Beyond that you go through a switch or use existing network infrastructure, which the Entry system is built to sit on. Each panel needs about 1 Mb/s multicast of bandwidth during a call.
3) Can I use the Paxton Entry system on a large multi-tenant building, and how many monitors can it handle?
Up to 1000 monitors on one Entry system, which covers most multi-family and commercial sites. It runs standalone or alongside Paxton's Net2 access control, or as part of Paxton10. Concierge mode is included at no extra charge for front-desk call handling.
4) Will this Paxton monitor mount to the backbox I already have in the wall?
The Entry premium monitor is listed as compatible with UK, Euro and USA backboxes, and it can also be surface mounted. It works wall mounted or on a desk stand, so an office reception unit and an in-suite unit can be the same part.
5) Can I install the Paxton Entry premium monitor in an unheated vestibule or outdoors?
No. This is an interior monitor only: no moisture resistance, low vandal resistance, and an operating range of 0 to 49 C (32 to 120 F). Anything exposed to weather or abuse belongs on the external panel side of the system, not this unit.
6) What else do I need to order to make a Paxton Entry door entry system work?
Three components make a working system and they auto-detect on setup: the external panel at the door, the interior monitor, and the door control unit. This part is the interior monitor only, so the panel and door control unit are separate orders. Panels come in a range of options to suit the site.
7) What is the difference between the Paxton Entry premium monitor with a handset and the one without?
Same 7 inch capacitive glass touchscreen and the same feature set; the handset version adds a physical handset for private audio instead of speaking hands-free at the screen. Audio is full duplex either way, so both parties can talk at once. Tenants who want conversation privacy, or units in noisy lobbies, usually get the handset.
8) Can a tenant see who called while they were out?
Yes. The Entry monitor keeps a log of 100 call events and takes a call snapshot, so a missed visitor is recorded with an image. There is also a 'view video' mode to pull up the door camera on demand without waiting for a bell press.
9) Do the action buttons on the Paxton Entry monitor work without Net2?
No. Action buttons only function in conjunction with Paxton Net2 software. Run Entry standalone and you still get the call, video, door release, snapshot and concierge functions, but not the Net2-driven action buttons.
10) Is the screen on this Paxton intercom monitor big enough to identify a visitor?
It is a 7 inch 16:9 color LED screen at 800 x 480, driven by a digital camera with an IR filter at the panel. That is enough to recognize a face at the door before releasing it; it is not a surveillance-grade recording display.
11) Can residents silence the Paxton Entry monitor at night?
Yes, there is a Do Not Disturb function, plus selectable ringtones so different units or rooms can be told apart. Both are set from the touchscreen, and there is a built-in help menu on the unit for residents who don't read manuals.
12) Does this Paxton monitor carry any regulatory listing for use in the US?
It is certified to FCC Part 15. That is the certification stated for the Entry premium monitor.
