Net2 software is designed to run on PC with a Windows XP or Windows Vista operating system. It is designed to feel immediately familiar to any Windows user. It will organize and report on up to 10,000 users and hundreds of doors. There are two versions of the software. Net2 Lite software which is free and Net2 Pro software. Net2 lite software contains all of the basic access control features to control access privileges and report on users. Other features include multiple workstations, time and attendance monitoring, IP camera integration, site graphics and remote sites using TCP/IP or modems. Net2 Pro has all the capabilities of Net2 Lite software with advanced features like timesheet and timeline, fire alarm and multi-zone intruder alarm integration, security lockdown, anti-passback and card designer. The software is designed to be intuitive to use and all but the most complex functions can be performed easily and without training.

Yes. The Landlord Tenant feature is a Net2 Pro function and is not in Net2 Lite. If you are splitting a building so tenants control their own areas, Professional is the version to order.
4) Does Paxton Net2 tie into a fire alarm so doors release on an alarm?
Fire alarm integration is a Net2 Pro feature, along with multi-zone intruder alarm integration and security lockdown. Net2 Lite does not include them, so an installation that has to interface with life safety or intruder panels needs the Professional software.
5) Which version of Paxton Net2 do I need for anti-passback on a parking garage or secure area?
Anti-passback is a Professional feature only. If you need to stop one credential being handed back through a gate or a controlled area, the Pro software is required.

Yes. Net2 uses a client/server structure that allows multiple clients, and multiple workstations are supported in both Lite and Pro. A front desk machine and a security office machine can both work against the same database.
7) Can I use Paxton Net2 to track employee hours as well as door access?
Timesheet time and attendance software is included, and time and attendance monitoring is part of the base feature set. Net2 Pro adds the timesheet and timeline reporting on top of that, so payroll-grade hour tracking off the same card reads is a Pro function.
8) Does everyone who uses Paxton Net2 need their own login?
Yes. Net2 operators have to be added before anyone can use the software, each one logs on with their own user name and unique password, and those logons are recorded in the events log.
