1) Can the PDK Red CloudNode Ethernet controller run a single door on its own, or do I need a separate door controller board?
One Red CloudNode handles a single door by itself. It's the cloud connection point and a single-door controller in the same box, with a reader port, Input A, Input B, and an industrial-grade 2A form-C relay on removable screw-down terminals, plus an onboard power supply that feeds the reader and door hardware off the bus. For a one-door opening it's the only PDK device you need besides the reader and lock. When the job grows, additional network or WiMAC wireless controllers plug into the same system.
2) Will a Prodatakey Red CloudNode fit in the electrical room enclosure I already have, and can it be mounted outdoors?
The Red CloudNode ships in a metal lockable security can measuring 7.625 x 10.4375 x 3 inches (W x H x D), and that can is rated indoor use only. Total output to all peripherals is 2 amps at 12V when powered by the included 2.5 amp wall adapter, and that budget is shared across every port, so readers, mag locks, and strikes all pull from the same 2 amps. Size a maglock draw against that before you assume it can run off the panel. If you substitute a supply, PDK calls for a regulated supply outputting no more than 24 volts measured with a multimeter.
5) The Red CloudNode is the Ethernet-only model. Can I still add doors where I can't pull cable?
Yes. OSDP is supported on the Red CloudNode. The onboard power circuit is fully supervised.
