The Rockwood 91 is a single plate that does both jobs: a flat push surface with an integral pull, so one piece handles a door that gets pushed one way and pulled the other. On a single-acting door you typically run the 91 on the pull side and a plain push plate on the push side. The pull projects 1 inch off the face of the plate, which is what your knuckles need to clear.

Yes. Two cutout options are offered: CFC for a cylinder cutout and CFTT for a turn knob cutout. Specify the suffix when you order, because the cutout is machined into the plate and cannot be added cleanly in the field. Standard locations and sizes follow Rockwood's published layout.

It is a commercial grade item and carries ANSI A156.6, J303, the BHMA standard covering architectural door trim. Body stock is .125 inch material, which is the heavier gauge you want on entrances that see constant hand traffic rather than a light residential stamped plate.

The combination plate suits doors where the pull is light duty and the same plate needs to protect the stile, common on restrooms, corridors, and office suites. If the door is heavy, has a strong closer, or gets yanked hard all day, go to a dedicated heavy duty pull plate instead: the Ives 8302 uses through bolt mounting, and the Ives 8303 comes with 8 inch or 10 inch center to center pull spacing for a proper grip. Trimco's 1010, 1012, and 1013 cast heavy duty plates are other options, with 5 inch and 5.5 inch center to center pulls.

The Rockwood 91 mounts with #8 x 7/8 inch sheet metal screws, with security Torx screws available as an option. Where the fastening itself is the failure point, the Ives 8302 is a heavy duty pull plate specified with through bolt mounting, which carries the load through the door rather than into the face sheet. The Ives 8303 is also a heavy duty pull plate, offered with 8 inch or 10 inch center-to-center mounting.

It ships with #8 x 7/8 inch sheet metal screws. For schools, detention, transit, or anywhere the plate is a target, order the TORX option to get security Torx screws instead. Note that #8 x 7/8 SMS are wood/sheet metal screws, so on a hollow metal door you want the leaf drilled and tapped, or spec through bolts if the traffic is heavy.

Two finishes: 626 satin chrome and 630 satin stainless. 626 is the satin chrome typically used with brass based hardware and 630 is the satin stainless used with stainless trim, and the two read very close from a few feet away but not side by side on the same door. If the rest of your openings are 630 levers and closers, stay with 630.

The Rockwood 91 is a commercial-duty plate in satin chrome 626 or satin stainless 630, built to ANSI A156.6 J303 for institutional, office, retail, educational and hospitality openings. They solve different problems. The Rockwood 91 is a general purpose combination push pull plate for commercial openings, fastened with #8 x 7/8 inch sheet metal screws. The Detex P/PN Series pull plate is built as a pull plate for Detex Value Series exit devices, so its purpose is the trim side of that specific device rather than a free-standing push pull application. If the door carries a Detex Value Series exit device, the Detex plate is the matched part; if it is a plain push pull opening, the 91 is the applicable one.

Stock materials are .125 inch aluminum, brass, bronze, and stainless steel, with brass and stainless being the substrates carried here. Brass base is what sits under the 626 satin chrome; stainless base is what you get with 630. For coastal or pool room environments, stainless is the one to spec.
