The S11389 is a 12 volt lamp and will not run on line voltage. It needs a low voltage supply, meaning a magnetic or electronic transformer feeding the fixture, which is what most MR16 track heads and recessed low voltage housings already have. Draw is 0.375A at 4.5W, 60Hz. If your fixture is wired direct to 120V, this is the wrong lamp.

It is rated as a 35W incandescent equivalent, putting out 360 lumens. So in a display case, cove, or accent track running 35W halogen MR16s, this swaps in at roughly one eighth the wattage. If your existing lamps are 50W halogen, expect a visible drop in output.

The lamp itself is dimmable, but on a 12V system the dimming behavior is decided by the transformer as much as the lamp. A 4.5W LED draws far less than the halogen the transformer was sized for, and magnetic transformers with a high minimum load will often flicker or drop out when you cut the count down. If you are relamping a whole track, check the transformer's minimum load before assuming smooth dimming.

It carries a damp location rating, so enclosed bathrooms, covered porches, and soffits protected from direct water are fine. It is not rated for wet locations, meaning anywhere exposed to rain or direct spray. Burning position is universal, so you can aim it up, down, or sideways without affecting life.

Rated average life is 25,000 hours. Halogen MR16s typically run 2,000 to 4,000 hours, so for a property manager or MRO buyer this is the difference between relamping a display case several times a year and leaving it alone. At 12 hours a day it works out to several years of service.

The S11389 is not DLC approved, so it will not qualify for rebate programs that require a DLC listing. It is FCC compliant. If a rebate is driving your project, verify the program's qualified product list before ordering quantity.

That describes the lamp housing, which is gray, not the light output. Construction is metal, plastic, and electronic components with a plastic lens over the LED array. In an open track head or an exposed monopoint where the lamp body is visible, the gray housing is what you will see.
