1) Does the Satco S9952 PLL LED need the existing fluorescent ballast removed?
Yes. The S9952 is a Type B ballast bypass lamp, so the existing PLL ballast has to be removed and line voltage wired direct to the 2G11 sockets. It runs on 120V to 277V at 50/60Hz, so it works on either leg of a commercial panel, but it will not operate if you leave the old magnetic or electronic ballast in the circuit.
2) Will the S9952 15W LED work in my existing 2G11 four-pin PLL fixture?
It uses the same 2G11 four-pin base as a standard PLL twin-tube lamp, so it drops into those sockets physically. The electrical side is the change: it's a bypass lamp, so the fixture has to be rewired to feed line voltage to the sockets. If you want a lamp that runs off the existing ballast, a Type B lamp like this one is the wrong choice.
3) Can I put this Satco PLL LED on a dimmer?
No. The S9952 is not dimmable and is not a three-way lamp. On a dimming circuit you'll get flicker, buzz, or no start at all. Wire it to a straight on/off switched circuit, or pick a dimmable lamp if the room needs level control.
4) Can this LED PLL lamp go in a fully enclosed fixture?
Yes, it's an enclosed rated lamp, so a sealed sconce or a gasketed vandal-resistant housing is fine. It's rated for damp locations and indoor use, which covers a covered breezeway or a bathroom, but not a wet location with direct water exposure.
