No cylinder ships with it. The CO-200 is sold less cylinder in three of its four configurations, and you pick which prep you want: B for 7-pin SFIC (Schlage, Falcon, and competitive OEM cores), J for Schlage 6-pin FSIC, or L for Schlage/Falcon 6-pin key-in-lever. The fourth option, P, is set up for a Schlage standard conventional cylinder. Match the prep to the core family already keying your building so the mechanical override key works on the same system as the rest of your doors.

Office function means the outside lever can be left unlocked so people walk in freely during business hours, then secured when you want credential-only entry. Inside lever always retracts the latch for free egress. A storeroom function, by contrast, keeps the outside lever locked at all times and demands a credential every single time. Pick office for a suite entry, a leasing office, or a conference room that stands open during the day; pick storeroom for a supply room or IT closet. The CO Series also offers classroom/storeroom and privacy functions if office isn't the behavior you need.

It depends on what prep your frame has. The CO-200 mortise lock ships with a 1-1/8 x 2-1/4 inch square corner deadlatch and a standard ANSI strike with a 1-3/16 inch lip, no box, measuring 1-1/4 x 4-7/8 inches. If your frame is already prepped for a standard ANSI/ASA 4-7/8 inch strike, which most hollow metal commercial frames are, the supplied strike drops straight in. A frame cut for a small T-strike or a residential full-lip strike needs to be modified or a different strike ordered.

Handing is a required selection, but the lock itself is field reversible, so a hand can be changed on site if the order comes through wrong or the door swing changes. The choices are field reversible, RH, LH, RHR, and LHR. Determine the hand from outside the door: if the hinges are on your right and it swings away from you, that is right hand.

That is the point of the proximity version. The CO-200 reads the same credential your people already carry for the building perimeter, so a tenant or staff member badges into the front door and into this room with one card. It also accepts 3 to 6 digit PINs and magnetic stripe cards depending on reader configuration, and a keypad-plus-card build gives you dual authentication where you want two factors on a sensitive room.

No wiring and no panel. The CO-200 is a standalone lock running on four AA batteries, with a status indicator and up to two years of battery life. Programming happens at the door, either manually at the keypad or by pushing a file down from the Schlage Utility Software mobile app on a compatible Android device using an SUS-A cable. That is what makes it a fit for a building where pulling cable to every door isn't practical or affordable.

Grade 1, and heavy duty rated for commercial traffic. The mortise version meets or exceeds ANSI/BHMA A156.13, Series 1000, Grade 1. Listed certifications include UL 294 for access control, UL 10C, UL Canada, FCC Part 15, and ADA. For a spec-driven institutional job, those are the lines that go on the hardware schedule.

Mortise, like the CO-200, requires a rectangular pocket machined into the edge of the door, and it is what you use when the door is already prepped for a mortise case or when you want the heavier case and a wider function range. A cylindrical electronic lock installs into a bored cross-bore and is far easier to retrofit into a door that already has a standard bored prep. If your doors are bored rather than mortised, look at cylindrical standalone locks instead, such as the TownSteel XCE-2000 Series keypad lockset or the SDC E75 Series battery-powered keypad lockset.

The CO-200 mortise lock is built for a 1-3/4 inch door. Where the door is thinner, the Alarm Lock Trilogy T2 DL2700 covers 1-5/8 to 1-7/8 inch, the Alarm Lock Trilogy 4100 covers 1-5/8 to 1-7/8 inch in privacy function, and the Lockey E985 electronic keypad lever lock with key override covers 1-3/8 to 1-3/4 inch. Measure the leaf at the lock edge before ordering, since all three are cylindrical or tubular and will not drop into a mortise pocket.

Two keypad-only Grade 1 options cover that. The Alarm Lock Trilogy T2 DL2700 is a Grade 1 standalone electronic cylindrical lock with a digital keypad, 100 user codes and IC/SFIC compatibility, fitted to doors 1-5/8 to 1-7/8 inch. The TownSteel XCE-2000 is a Grade 1 heavy duty electronic cylindrical lockset with a keypad, fitted to doors 1-3/4 to 2 inch in classroom function. Both are cylindrical, so they need a 161 bore rather than the mortise pocket the CO-200 uses, and the CO-200 carries 2,000 users with a 2,000 event audit trail against the DL2700's 100 codes.

The TownSteel FCE-2000 is the nearest card-reading peer. The Schlage CO-200 is a Grade 1 heavy duty standalone electronic lock with a proximity reader, and the TownSteel FCE-2000 is a Grade 1 heavy duty standalone motorized cylindrical lockset with RFID technology fitted to 1-3/4 inch doors. The difference that decides it is the chassis and the function: the CO-200 here is a mortise lock in office function, while the FCE-2000 is cylindrical in classroom function. The CO-200 is a standalone battery operated lock running on four AA cells, so it holds its user list and audit trail at the door rather than taking a live signal from a panel. For a wired opening, the SDC Electra 7200 is a solenoid controlled cylindrical lock with dual voltage 12/24VDC for doors 1-3/4 to 2 inch, which releases from the panel or a remote switch. Use the 7200 where the credential decision is made upstream and power is already run to the frame, and the CO-200 where the door has no wiring and the credentials live in the lock.

The CO-200 ships less cylinder and is ordered by core prep: B for less cylinder taking Schlage, Falcon and competitive OEM 7 pin SFIC, J for Schlage 6 pin FSIC, L for Schlage and Falcon 6 pin key-in-lever, or P for a Schlage standard conventional cylinder. On the cylindrical side, the Alarm Lock Trilogy T2 DL2700 is IC/SFIC compatible, and the BEST 9KZ EZ Series is an electronic keypad cylindrical lock with key override. Confirm the core format and keyway your facility keys to before you commit either way.

The CO-200 mortise lock is specified for a 1-3/4 inch door. For thicker leaves, the SDC E75 is a battery-powered electronic cylindrical lockset with keypad access control covering 1-3/4 to 2-1/8 inch, the SDC Electra 7200 covers 1-3/4 to 2 inch, and the TownSteel XCE-2000 covers 1-3/4 to 2 inch. The E75 and the CO-200 are both battery powered and hold their programming at the door; the 7200 runs on 12/24VDC from a panel.

Up to 2,000 users with an audit trail of up to 2,000 events, so you can pull who opened the door and when. That capacity is what separates the CO-200 from the simpler CO-100 keypad lock, along with the ability to be computer programmed rather than only hand-programmed at the door. For a facility standardizing across many openings, the CO-200 also shares an offline system with the AD-200, CO-220, and CT5000, all managed from PC-based Schlage Express software with holidays and time zones for scheduled auto lock and unlock.

For RFID credentials on a bored door rather than a mortise prep, the TownSteel FCE-2000 Series is a Grade 1 standalone motorized cylindrical lockset with RFID, classroom function, on 1-3/4 inch doors. The FCE-4000 Series is the intruder classroom version of the same idea. Both are card-based like the CO-200 proximity build, but they are cylindrical and classroom function, so they lock and unlock differently from an office-function lock and they will not drop into a mortise pocket.

Not this configuration. The A156.25 full outdoor certification on the CO Series applies to the 70 function. The office function build is an interior lock. For a perimeter opening you want the full outdoor rated variant, and the credential will still be the same one your people badge in with elsewhere.

The CO-200 is built around management: 2,000 users, a 2,000 event audit trail, and programming through Schlage Express software or the SUS mobile app. If none of that will be used, the Lockey 1600 is a heavy duty mechanical keyless knob lock with an adjustable backset for doors 1-1/8 to 2 inch, and the Lockey 2830 is a mechanical pushbutton keyless knob lock with auto-locking passage function over the same 1-1/8 to 2 inch range. Both are mechanical pushbutton, so there are no batteries and no credential list, and neither records who came through the door.

Office function on the CO-200 is an entry function, not a privacy function, so it is the wrong choice for a restroom. The Alarm Lock Trilogy 4100 is a Grade 1 electronic cylindrical lock in privacy function with keypad, for doors 1-5/8 to 1-7/8 inch, and the CENTRIOS CEB100 is a Grade 1 smart Bluetooth cylindrical lock in privacy function. For a non-electronic privacy opening, the Cal-Royal CAL20 is a Grade 1 extra heavy duty privacy lock for 1-3/8 to 2 inch doors.

They are not equivalent. The CO-200 is a Grade 1 heavy duty commercial mortise lock with a proximity reader and a 2,000 event audit trail. The Kwikset 912TNL ZW500 SmartCode is a Z-Wave electronic Tustin lever, keyed one side, for doors 1-3/8 to 2 inch. The Kwikset is a home automation style lever that reports to a Z-Wave hub, while the CO-200 uses the same building credential as the perimeter and logs access at the lock. For an office door on a commercial spec, the CO-200 or another Grade 1 electronic lock such as the TownSteel XCE-2000 is the like-for-like choice.

Both keep the record at the door. The Alarm Lock T3 DL3075 is a Grade 1 electronic cylindrical lock with audit trail and keypad access. The Schlage CO-200 is a Grade 1 mortise lock with a proximity reader that stores up to 2,000 users and an audit trail of up to 2,000 events, downloaded through the SUS mobile app or managed with Schlage Express software. The deciding factors are the credential, card versus code, and the door prep, mortise versus cylindrical.

For a keyed office or entry opening without electronics, the Dorma C150 is a Grade 1 heavy-duty cylindrical lock in entry/office function for doors 1-3/8 to 2-1/4 inch, and the Marks USA 195RAB is a Grade 1 Survivor Series entry clutched lever lockset supplied less core. Both are keyed mechanical locks, so entry is by key alone with no user list, no audit trail, and no batteries, where the CO-200 runs on four AA cells and carries credentials in the lock.

They serve the same job from different chassis. The Accentra nexTouch NTB613 is a Grade 1 cylindrical keypad lock with pushbutton entry. The Schlage CO-200 is a Grade 1 heavy duty mortise lock read by proximity credential, field reversible, on a 2-3/4 inch backset with a 1-3/16 inch lip ANSI strike. Pick the NTB613 where the door is bored 161 and users will enter a code; pick the CO-200 where the door has a mortise pocket and the site issues cards.

The CO-200 reads a proximity credential at the reader side, with dual authentication available when built with keypad plus card reader. For credential entry from both faces of the door, the Alarm Lock DL5200 is a double-sided electronic cylindrical lock with 100 user capacity and battery operation for doors 1-5/8 to 1-7/8 inch. That is the configuration to specify when the opening has to be controlled leaving as well as entering, such as a secured corridor or stairwell.

Six lever styles are offered: Athens, Latitude, Longitude, Rhodes, Sparta, and Tubular. Finishes run 605 bright brass, 606 satin brass, 612 satin bronze, 619 satin nickel, 625 bright chrome, 626 satin chrome, and 643E aged bronze. For a property manager matching an existing floor, 626 satin chrome is the usual commercial default and pairs with most existing Schlage mechanical trim already hanging in the building.

Only on an inactive leaf. The Dorma C501 is a single dummy trim keyless lever lockset, Grade 2, for doors 1-3/8 to 1-3/4 inch, and the Dorma CL701 is a Grade 2 single dummy non-keyed lever lockset. Dummy trim has no latch and no locking action at all, so it is trim for a fixed or inactive leaf.
