1) Is the Schlage L9090EU fail safe or fail secure?
As an EU it's fail secure: the outside lever is held unlocked while powered and locks when power drops. The same lock case is customer-selectable between EL and EU, so the electrified function can be set the other way in the field if the opening needs fail safe instead. Either way the inside lever is always free for immediate egress, and the auxiliary latch deadlocks the latchbolt once the door closes.
