Trimco 1041 Half-Round Push Plate 8" x 16"

The 1041/1056 combination is ADA compliant. The grip is a 1 inch by 3/8 inch straight pull on 8 inch center-to-center spacing, which gives a graspable bar that needs no tight pinching or wrist twisting to operate. Clearance behind the bar is 1-1/2 inches, so a gloved hand clears the plate face. Nothing about it conflicts with a closer, since the plate and pull are surface applied to the door face.

Projection is 1-7/8 inches off the door face, with 1-1/2 inches of hand clearance between the bar and the plate. That matters on a pair of doors with an astragal, in a tight vestibule, or anywhere a swinging door passes close to a wall or another leaf. Measure your swing path before committing.

Pick the plate-and-grip when the door face needs protecting as well as pulling. The 1041 puts an 8 x 16 inch half-round plate behind the 1139 grip, so hands, rings and carts hit stainless instead of the door finish, and it gives one clean mounting footprint on a high-traffic entrance. Choose a bare bar pull when the door is glass, when the face is already protected by a separate armor or push plate, or when the design calls for minimal hardware. The Trimco 1041 needs room for an 8 inch by 16 inch plate on the door face. On a narrow stile where that will not land, the Ives 8145EZHD is an ADA compliant 45 degree offset pull with heavy duty mounting hardware and no plate to fit around. The Ives 8103HD is a heavy duty straight pull with a 1 inch round bar and through bolt mounting, and the ABH AB7200 is a solid stainless steel flat end pull with a 7/8 inch diameter bar, also through-bolt mounted. All three mount to the bar footprint only, so the stile only has to carry the pull centers.

The Trimco 1041 is a single-side assembly: one 8 inch by 16 inch half-round plate with the 1139 bar pull on it. For a grip on both faces, the Deltana SSPOBB24 is a 24 inch back-to-back modern offset pull set, the Deltana SSPORBB24 is a 24 inch back-to-back round offset set, and the Deltana OHP620 is an off-set handle pull in a back-to-back set for doors 1-1/8 inch to 1-3/8 inch thick. Those are bar pulls without a plate, so a door that needs a protective plate on the push side would take a separate push plate.

The Ives 8102HD is a heavy duty straight door pull with a 3/4 inch round bar and 1-1/2 inch clearance, mounted to the door on its own with no backing plate. If the door face is taking hand traffic and you want it covered, the 1041 gives you plate and pull as one piece; if the door already has a plate or does not need one, the 8102HD is the bar alone. Both are heavy duty commercial parts.

The Trimco 1041 carries a straight bar pull with 1-1/2 inch clearance and 1-7/8 inch total projection off the door. If you want the grip angled away from the face instead of parallel to it, the Ives 8145EZHD is a 45 degree offset heavy duty pull that is ADA compliant, and the Ives 8169 is a C style offset solid pull with a 1 inch diameter bar and heavy duty mounting. The ABH AB3310 is an offset flat end pull and the ABH AB3330 is an offset round end pull with custom length options. All of these are pulls without the half-round plate, so if you still want the door face covered you would order a push or pull plate separately.

Standard plate is 8 inches by 16 inches, half-round in shape, with the 1139 Series bar grip mounted to it. Trimco manufactures the 1041 in custom plate sizes and custom finishes if the standard footprint does not suit the opening.

Plates are .050 inch heavy duty stainless steel, brass or bronze, pencil beveled on all four sides so there is no sharp edge at the perimeter. Trimco rates the 1041 heavy duty and commercial, and it is specified into commercial and industrial buildings, government and military facilities, retail, hospitality, and multifamily. The plate body also takes the wear that would otherwise land on the door face around a bare pull.

Eight finishes: 605 bright brass, 606 satin brass, 613 oil rubbed bronze, 613E dark oxidized satin bronze, 622 matte black, 626 satin chrome, 629 bright stainless, and 630 satin stainless. If you are matching existing openings, 630 satin stainless is the usual commercial standard and 626 satin chrome the common match to older chrome-plated trim. Custom finishes are available from Trimco beyond the eight.

No handing to specify. The 8 x 16 inch half-round plate with its centered 8 inch center-to-center grip is symmetrical, so the same part works on a left or right hand door and on either leaf of a pair. Ordering only asks for the finish. That is different from decorative pulls such as the Emtek Art Nouveau 8 inch door pull, which does require you to select handing.

They are not the same class of part. The Trimco 1041 is a heavy duty commercial assembly built from .050 inch stainless steel, brass or bronze plate with an ADA compliant 1 inch by 3/8 inch pull, and it is specified for commercial and industrial buildings, government and military facilities, retail, hospitality and multifamily. The Deltana SSP1210 is a 12 inch contemporary single-side pull from the Contemporary Pulls line - a bar pull only, with no plate behind it. On a high-traffic commercial opening where the door face needs protection and the hardware is being written to a heavy duty spec, the 1041 and the SSP1210 are answering different requirements.

Both give you a straight grip. The Trimco 1041 pull is a 1 inch by 3/8 inch flat bar on an 8 inch center-to-center with 1-1/2 inch clearance, and it arrives fixed to a half-round 8 inch by 16 inch plate. The ABH AB3300 is a straight flat end pull handle with a 1.00 inch diameter round bar, sold as a pull on its own. So the difference is bar shape - flat section versus 1 inch round - and whether a plate comes with it.

No - the Cal-Royal PUL-175 is a night latch cylinder pull, 3-1/2 inches high, in stainless steel. It is the small pull that goes over a rim cylinder on a night latch so the door can be pulled shut by the cylinder trim. The Trimco 1041 is an 8 inch by 16 inch half-round plate with a full 8 inch center-to-center grip bar, sized for a hand to pull a commercial door open. They serve different openings and the PUL-175 is not a drop-in for the 1041.

Trimco lists the 1041 under its Healthy Hardware program, and the plate is stainless steel, brass or bronze with a pencil beveled edge on four sides, so there is no crevice at the perimeter to trap soil during routine cleaning. Solid metal takes repeated disinfectant wipe-downs that a plated or coated pull will not. For a facility standardizing across openings, the eight stock finishes cover the usual matches, with 630 satin stainless the common institutional spec.

Trimco publishes a mounting template for the 1041, numbered 11400, alongside the Heavy Duty Pull Plates cutsheet. The grip itself sets on 8 inch centers, so that is the hole spacing to carry through to the door. Work from the template rather than scaling from the 8 x 16 inch plate outline.
