Yes, 1-3/4 inches is the standard door thickness for the 3900 Dubl-Bolt. That covers most commercial pairs, where 1-3/4 inch is the normal leaf thickness. It goes on the inactive leaf of the pair, not the active one.
2) What do I have to specify when ordering a Trimco 3900 Dubl-Bolt?
Three things beyond finish: the door type (wood or hollow metal), the strike, and the lock type it has to pair with. The 3900 comes with multiple strike options built to work with either cylindrical or mortise locks, so the lock on the active leaf drives which strike you order. Get those three wrong and the bolt will not line up with the lock you already have.
3) How does a two point flush bolt like the Trimco 3900 differ from a pair of separate manual flush bolts?
Separate manual flush bolts mean two motions, one at the head and one at the threshold, and someone bending down to the floor bolt. The 3900 Dubl-Bolt throws and retracts both the top and bottom bolts with a single lever at one height. That is why it is ADA compliant while conventional floor-level manual bolts generally are not.
