1) Can the WAC Sleepless WS-W43011 wall light be used outdoors in an exposed location?
Yes. The Sleepless WS-W43011 is Wet Location rated and carries an IP65 rating along with ETL and cETL listings, so it can go on an open exterior wall exposed to rain, as well as indoors. It is listed for both indoor and outdoor use, which lets you run the same fixture on a covered entry, a patio wall, and an interior corridor without changing part numbers.
2) Will the Sleepless LED wall sconce work on the dimmers already in my building?
It dims with electronic low voltage (ELV), TRIAC, or 0-10V controls, and WAC describes the dimming as smooth and continuous. TRIAC covers the common forward-phase wall dimmers; ELV covers reverse-phase; 0-10V is the usual control on commercial lighting panels. What it will not do is dim off a magnetic low voltage or standard incandescent-only dimmer, so if that is what is in the wall box, plan on swapping the control.
3) Is the WAC Sleepless outdoor sconce ADA compliant for a corridor or egress path?
No. The Sleepless WS-W43011 is not ADA compliant, so it should not be specified in a corridor or along a path of travel where protruding-objects limits apply. For those locations choose a sconce specifically listed as ADA compliant, typically one with shallow projection. On an exterior wall above an entry outside the ADA reach zone, it is not an issue.
4) Does the Sleepless WS-W43011 meet California Title 24 for residential outdoor lighting?
It is Title 20 compliant but not Title 24 compliant, and it is not Energy Star qualified. For a California residential project where the exterior fixture has to satisfy Title 24, this one will not carry the credit on its own, so select a JA8 or Title 24 listed outdoor fixture instead. Outside California, or in applications where Title 24 does not govern, that is not a constraint.
5) Do I need to order bulbs for the WAC WS-W43011, and what happens when the LED fails?
No bulbs to order. It is an integrated LED fixture with one light source built in and included, rated for an average 50,000 hours. Because the LED is integrated rather than socketed, there is no lamp to replace at end of life, which is worth knowing for an MRO or property maintenance program: you stock the fixture, not the lamp.
6) How much light does the 11.25 inch Sleepless sconce put out, and is it enough for an entry door?
700 lumens from a 13W LED at 3000K, with a flood beam spread through a seeded glass diffuser. That is warm-white decorative output suited to a front door, garage flank, or unit entry where you want the fixture to read as a feature. It is not a security or area light; for parking or wall-pack duty you want a dedicated flood or wall pack with several times the lumen output.
7) What finish and materials does the WAC Sleepless WS-W43011 come in if I need it to match other fixtures on the building?
One finish combination: Black with Aged Brass accents, ordered as WS-W43011-BK/AB. The body is aluminum hardware and the diffuser is hammered seeded glass, in a mid-century industrial look. If you are standardizing a facade, order all openings in the same BK/AB finish; there is no alternate finish on the 11.25 inch size.
