1) Can the WAC Slice FM-4111 flush mount be installed on a wall as a sconce, not just the ceiling?
Yes, the 11 inch Slice LED round fixture mounts either way. On a ceiling it works as the single ambient source in a room, and on a wall it reads as a sconce. When wall mounted it is ADA compliant, which matters in corridors and other egress areas where projection is limited.
2) Does the FM-4111 need a separate LED driver or transformer?
No. It runs on 120V AC LED technology with the electronics integrated, so there is no remote driver or transformer to find room for. It is hardwired and lands on a pancake junction box, which is what makes it workable in shallow ceiling cavities and on concrete decks.
3) What dimmer do I need for the WAC Slice LED flush mount?
Use an electronic low voltage (ELV) dimmer. The fixture dims smooth and continuous on ELV control, and it will not behave correctly on a standard incandescent/forward-phase dimmer. Spec the ELV dimmer on the same order so the job does not stall at trim-out.
4) Can I use the Slice FM-4111 in a bathroom over a shower or on a covered porch?
It is damp location rated and carries an IP44 rating, so a bathroom ceiling or a covered exterior porch or soffit is fine. It is not wet rated, so keep it out of direct spray and uncovered exterior positions.
5) Is the FM-4111 bright enough to be the only light in a small room?
