1) Can the WAC Lighting WS-6718 Line vanity light be installed vertically beside a mirror, or is it horizontal only?
Both. The 18 inch Line LED fixture mounts wall-mounted either horizontally above a mirror or vertically alongside one, and the panel itself rotates so you can aim the light up, down, or split for task and ambient. Mounting method is listed as Wall with Up/Down orientation. At 18 inches wide by 4 inches high, a vertical pair flanking a mirror is a common layout.
2) Is the WS-6718 vanity light safe over a shower or in a wet bathroom?
It is rated for damp locations and IP44, so it is fine in a bathroom with normal shower humidity and in covered outdoor or indoor locations. It is not a wet-location fixture, so do not place it inside a shower enclosure or anywhere exposed to direct spray or weather.
3) What dimmer do I need for the WAC Line LED vanity light? Will a standard incandescent dimmer work?
No. The Line LED panel dims only with an electronic low voltage (ELV) dimmer, which is what gives the smooth continuous dimming. A standard incandescent or TRIAC forward-phase dimmer is the wrong control here and will cause flicker or no dimming. Specify an ELV-compatible dimmer with the fixture.
4) Does the WS-6718 need a separate driver, and where does it go?
A 120V transformer ships with the fixture and installs inside the junction box. It measures 2 x 1.38 x 1.02 inches, so you need that much free space in the box after your conductors. The fixture is hardwired at 120V; 277V is available by special order.
5) Is the WAC WS-6718 ADA compliant for a commercial restroom?
