1) Can the WAC Parallax WS-73127 vanity light be mounted vertically beside a mirror, or only horizontally above it?
Both. The Parallax WS-73127 is approved for wall mounting in all orientations, so you can run the 27 inch bar horizontally over a mirror or turn it vertically alongside one. The driver sits inside the canopy, so there is no remote driver to find a place for.
2) Is the WS-73127 Parallax safe to use in a shower area or over a tub?
It is rated for damp locations and carries an IP44 rating, with ETL and cETL listings. That covers a bathroom including covered or indirectly wet areas like over a tub, but a damp rating is not a wet rating, so it should not be inside a shower enclosure taking direct spray.
3) Do I have to pick a color temperature when I order the WS-73127, or can I change it after it's installed?
Either way. The fixture has built in color temperature adjustability between 2700K, 3000K and 3500K, and you can pre-select the temperature at order or switch it in the field. The three orderable part numbers in black are WS-73127-27-BK, WS-73127-30-BK and WS-73127-35-BK, corresponding to the 2700K, 3000K and 3500K pre-selections.
4) Will the WAC Parallax WS-73127 work on 277V commercial circuits?
Yes. Input is 120/277V, 50/60Hz, and the voltage spec covers 120-240-277V, so the same fixture drops into a residential 120V bath or a 277V lighting circuit in a commercial or multi-family building. That makes it practical to standardize one part number across a property.
5) What dimmer type does the WS-73127 need, and how low will it go?
It dims on ELV or TRIAC controls. On an ELV dimmer the range is 100 to 5 percent; on TRIAC it is 100 to 10 percent. If you want the deepest dim for a bath at night, spec the ELV driver-compatible dimmer. It is a hardwired fixture, so the dimmer goes on the branch circuit.
6) Will the WS-73127 cover my existing junction box, and how far does it stand off the wall?
The backplate measures 6 inches, which is what sits over the outlet box, so a standard round or octagonal box is concealed. Overall the fixture is 27 inches long and 7.38 inches on its other dimension. Check the backplate against any oversized or offset box before you commit the wall.
7) Is this WAC vanity light ADA compliant for a commercial restroom?
No. The Parallax WS-73127 is not ADA compliant, so it should not be specified where a protruding-objects limit applies, such as a public corridor or an accessible restroom wall within the reach range. For those locations you need a fixture listed as ADA compliant.
