WAC Lighting HT2-BK – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will a WAC HT2 track section work with my existing H-style track heads?
The HT2 is a 2-foot section of WAC Lighting's H Track system, single circuit at 120V. It takes H-style (Halo-compatible) track components from the same H Track collection. It is not an interchange with J or L track geometry, so heads built for those systems will not seat in it.
2) Can WAC H Track be used in a covered outdoor area or a bathroom?
No. The HT2 is rated for dry interior locations only. Covered exterior soffits, open porches, shower areas, and anywhere subject to condensation need a damp- or wet-rated fixture instead.
3) Is WAC HT2 track UL listed for commercial work, and does it meet California energy rules?
The track carries UL and cUL listings, which covers US and Canadian inspection. It is CEC listed for California appliance-efficiency registration, but it is not Title 24 compliant and not Energy Star, so on a Title 24 job the compliance has to come from the lamp or control side.
4) Is this track hardwired or does it plug in?
Hardwired. The HT2 ties into a 120V branch circuit through a feed or canopy, so an electrician and a junction box are part of the job. If you need a plug-in retail display or a rental-friendly install with no wiring, this is not the right track.
5) How far does WAC H Track drop below the ceiling?
The rail itself is 0.66 inch high and 1.38 inches wide, running 24 inches long. That low profile matters in corridors and low-ceiling spaces, though the heads you hang on it add the real projection.
6) What finishes does WAC H Track 2FT sections come in for matching existing runs?
Four finishes: Black (HT2-BK), White (HT2-WT), Brushed Nickel (HT2-BN), and Dark Bronze (HT2-DB). For a facility standardizing across rooms, order connectors and heads in the same finish code so a patched run doesn't read as mismatched.
7) I need a longer run than 2 feet. Can I join H Track sections together?
Yes, 2-foot sections are the short building block in WAC's H Track line and get joined with connectors to build the length you need. Every section on a run stays on the one 120V single circuit, so the 1920W total still applies across the whole assembly.
8) Can I mount a 2FT H track section on a wall instead of the ceiling?
The HT2 is not a reversible-mounting component, so plan it as a ceiling-mounted rail fed from a box above. Aluminum body, so it is light enough for standard ceiling anchors but the rail is not meant to be flipped for alternate orientation.
