1) Does the WAC Tower 6622 bollard need a transformer, or does it wire straight to line voltage?
The 6622 Tower bollard is the 120V version, so it wires directly to line voltage with no transformer. The low-voltage 12V Tower bollards are the ones that need a magnetic or electronic power supply. Wiring is hardwired, and the fixture ships with a 36 inch lead and two gel-filled direct burial wire nuts so you can splice it to buried landscape cable at the fixture.
2) What mounting hardware comes with the WAC 6622 bollard, and can it be set in concrete?
A guardian spike mounting accessory is included, which drives into soil or planting beds. For a hardscape or a poured base, the concrete pour kit M66-CON-KIT is a separate item. The fixture is not reversible-mount, so plan the base for a single upright orientation.
3) Will this bollard hold up to sprinklers, pressure washing and coastal weather?
It is factory sealed and water tight with an IP66 rating, which covers high-pressure water jets as well as rain and irrigation spray, and it is rated for wet locations outdoors. The housing is cast k-alloy aluminum. UL and cUL listed to 1598.
4) What finish and color temperature choices are there on the Tower bollard, and how do I order the right one?
Four combinations: black or bronze, each in 2700K or 3000K. The part numbers are 6622-27BK, 6622-27BZ, 6622-30BK and 6622-30BZ. If you are adding to an existing landscape run, match the Kelvin of what is already installed, 2700K reads warmer and 3000K slightly cooler.
5) What dimmer works with the 120V Tower LED bollard?
On the 120V Tower bollard, use a Triac or ELV dimmer. It dims smoothly and continuously down to 10 percent. Magnetic low voltage dimmers belong on the 12V version of the fixture, not this one.
6) How tall is the Tower LED bollard and what footprint does the base take?
The Tower bollard stands 30 inches tall with a 5 by 5 inch body. The backplate is 5 inches in diameter and 1 inch high, which is the footprint to allow for at the base when you are laying out walkway edges or planter curbs.
7) How much light does the WAC 6622 put out, and how many do I need along a walkway?
Each Tower bollard draws 12.5W and puts out 520 lumens at 90 CRI, thrown evenly from all four sides through a frosted, silk screened mitered glass. That is accent and path-marking output rather than area lighting, so on a walkway they are normally spaced in a run rather than relied on singly. Rated life is 60,000 hours.
8) Does the WAC Tower bollard meet Title 24 for a California project?
Yes, the Tower LED bollard is listed as Title 24 compliant and ADA compliant. It does not carry an Energy Star listing.
9) Can the LED be replaced, or is the whole bollard scrap when it fails?
The LED is integrated but replaceable, so the module can be swapped rather than replacing the entire fixture. The light source ships with the fixture, one LED per bollard, no lamp to buy separately.
