WAC Lighting 4.5" Rondelle LED Wall Sconce

The Rondelle WS-42505 carries a Damp location rating and an IP44 rating, so it works in a bathroom and in covered outdoor spots like a porch ceiling overhang. Damp rated is fine near a tub or in a steamy bath, but it is not a wet-location fixture, so keep it out of direct spray inside a shower enclosure and off uncovered exterior walls.

It needs an electronic low voltage (ELV) dimmer. Dimming is smooth and continuous on an ELV control; a standard incandescent/forward-phase dimmer is not the right match and is the usual cause of flicker or drop-out on this fixture. Spec the ELV dimmer along with the sconce so the electrician is not back on site.

At 230 lumens from an 8.5W integrated LED, a single Rondelle is accent-level output, not a room's primary light. For a vanity, the normal approach is a pair flanking the mirror, plus ceiling or recessed light for general illumination. In a hallway, entry, or foyer it reads as decorative wall light. The flood beam spread and up/down wall mounting wash the wall above and below the backplate.

It measures 4.5 inches wide by 7.3 inches high, with a 4.5 inch backplate. The LED driver sits in the J-box rather than in the fixture body, so you need enough free volume in the box behind the backplate. With only a 4.5 inch backplate there is no extra plate area to cover an oversized or badly placed box cut.

No. The Rondelle WS-42505 is not ADA compliant, so it should not be used in corridors or along accessible routes where protrusion limits apply. Use it in guest baths, residential units, entries and foyers instead, and pick an ADA-rated sconce for public circulation paths.

It is Title 20 listed but not Title 24 compliant. On a California project where the bathroom luminaire itself has to be high-efficacy per Title 24, this fixture will not satisfy that line item on its own; the compliance path has to come from elsewhere in the design. The fixture is ETL and cETL listed for US and Canadian use.

Standard build is 120V. A 277V version is available as a special order, so a multi-family or commercial job running 277V lighting branch circuits can be served, but it is not the stock configuration and has to be specified that way up front.

Two finishes: Aged Brass (WS-42505-AB) and Polished Nickel (WS-42505-PN). Both are 3000K warm white only, so every unit matches in color across a building and there is no color temperature decision to make when you reorder for a different floor.

No. The light source is an integrated LED, included and not a replaceable lamp, rated at an average 60,000 hours. For an MRO plan that means no relamping cycle at all, but end of life is a fixture swap, not a bulb. At typical bath use, 60,000 hours is a very long service life.

Hardware is die-cast aluminum with thick cased clear glass. Die-cast aluminum plus a damp rating is the combination you want for hospitality and multi-family baths, where humidity is the thing that kills cheaper fixtures. The glass is thick cased rather than thin blown, so it takes cleaning crews better than a delicate shade.

Hardwired only. It mounts to a wall junction box with the driver sitting in that box, so it needs an electrician and a box in the wall, not a receptacle. There is no cord or plug option.
