WAC Lighting WAC-PD-33743 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can the Corso 42.5 inch pendant be installed on a sloped or vaulted ceiling?
Yes. It is a cable-hung, ceiling-mounted fixture and WAC states it can be mounted on a slope ceiling. The round canopy is 11.75 inches across and houses the driver, so no remote driver location or separate junction enclosure is needed above the ceiling.
2) What dimmer works with the WAC Corso PD-33743 LED pendant?
Use an electronic low voltage (ELV) dimmer or a 0-10V dimmer. Those are the two control types the integrated LED driver accepts, and WAC specifies smooth continuous dimming with either. A standard incandescent/TRIAC forward-phase dimmer is not the listed control method, so spec the ELV or 0-10V device when you write the electrical package.
3) Will this pendant run on 277V in a commercial building?
It will. The Corso PD-33743 uses a universal input voltage driver rated 120V, 240V and 277V, so the same fixture works on residential 120V and on a 277V commercial lighting circuit with no separate part number. It is a hardwired fixture, not a plug-in.
4) Can the Corso LED pendant go on a covered porch or over a bathtub area?
It carries a damp location rating and an IP44 rating, which covers covered outdoor spaces like a porch, breezeway or covered patio, and damp interior rooms such as bathrooms. It is not rated for wet locations with direct rain exposure.
5) How much light does the 42.5 inch Corso pendant put out, and what color is it?
11,115 lumens at 128 watts, in a 3000K warm white. The distribution is a flood beam through a white polycarbonate diffuser, so it reads as broad ambient light rather than a spot. That output is enough to be the primary light source over a large island, conference table or entry, rather than a decorative accent.
6) Do I need to order bulbs for the WAC Corso pendant, and what happens when the LEDs fail?
No bulbs to buy. The Corso uses integrated LED modules hidden inside the spun aluminum halo, supplied with the fixture, rated for an average 75,000 hours. There is no socket or lamp base, so the light source is not field-replaceable the way a screw-in lamp would be. For a property manager, that is the tradeoff: no relamping in service, but the fixture is the serviceable unit.
7) Does the Corso PD-33743 meet California Title 24 for a job in California?
Yes, the Corso is listed as both Title 24 compliant and Title 20 compliant, which is what a California spec will ask for on a hardwired residential luminaire. It is ETL and cETL listed for the US and Canada. It is not Energy Star rated and it is not an ADA compliant fixture, which matters only if a wall-projection requirement applies, and this is a ceiling-hung pendant.
8) What finishes does the Corso PD-33743 come in and what are the part numbers?
Three finishes, all in 3000K: brushed aluminum as PD-33743-AL, black as PD-33743-BK, and white as PD-33743-WT. The body is solid aluminum in every finish. If you are standardizing several openings or a run of pendants in one space, order by those suffixes so the finishes match across the job.
9) How much ceiling space does this pendant actually take up?
The ring itself is 42.5 inches in diameter and only 4.38 inches tall, so it is a wide, shallow halo rather than a deep drum. Plan clearance for a 42.5 inch circle, plus the 11.75 inch round canopy at the ceiling. Over a kitchen island, that width usually means one fixture centered rather than a row of smaller pendants.
10) Can I get the Corso pendant in 2700K or 3500K instead of 3000K?
The stocked configuration is 3000K across all three finishes. WAC does offer custom CCT options by special order, so a non-standard color temperature is possible but is not one of the regular finish/temperature combinations.
