1) Can this WAC LEDme step light be used outdoors on a covered porch?
Yes, for covered or protected outdoor locations. It is damp location rated and IP44, listed to UL and cUL 1598. That covers a soffit, covered stair, or porch ceiling, but not a spot taking direct rain or sprinkler spray, which needs a wet location fixture.
2) Is the WL-LED100TR line voltage, or does it need a transformer?
It runs on 120V line voltage and is hardwired, so no low voltage transformer is required. Draw is 3.3W on a single integrated LED module.
3) What dimmer works with this WAC step light?
Use an ELV (electronic low voltage) dimmer. On an ELV control it dims smooth and continuous down to 10 percent. Standard incandescent/TRIAC wall dimmers are not the specified control here.
4) Does the WL-LED100TR step light meet ADA and Title 24?
It is listed ADA compliant and Title 24 compliant, and Dark Sky. For California Title 24 projects and ADA-sensitive corridors in schools, healthcare, or multi-family, those are the two boxes most inspectors check.

The LED module is replaceable, and it is offered in the alternate colors (blue, red, amber), so a fixture can be re-colored later without pulling the trim out of the wall. Rated life is 50,000 hours average. Module comes with the fixture.
8) Can I install this step light with the light throw pointing either direction?
Yes. It has reversible mounting, so the horizontal trim can be oriented to throw light down onto the tread or across the wall depending on how you set it in the box. Backplate height is 3.13 inches and the visible face measures 5 inches wide by 3 inches high.
9) Will this trim really disappear into a painted wall, or is there a visible faceplate?
There is no visible hardware. The trim sets into the 2x4 box, then gets spackled and painted with the wall, leaving only the frosted lens showing. If you want a visible trim plate, this is the wrong model for that look.
