1) Will the WAC Lighting HT-826 track head fit my existing track, or do I need to specify H, J or L?
Track style has to match what is on the ceiling. The HT-826 Dune track head is built in H, J/J2 and L track configurations, and the L-track version is the one described as HT-826 Low Voltage Track Head 50W for L Track. Order to your track layout, since an L adapter will not seat in an H or J channel. All versions run on 120V track.
2) Does the WAC HT-826 track head come with a bulb?
No lamp is included on the standard HT-826. It takes an MR16 lamp on a GY5.3 bi-pin ceramic socket, LED or halogen, and a clear lens is in the box. If you want it pre-lamped, the HT-826LED version ships with an LED MR16 installed.
3) Can I put an LED MR16 in a low voltage track head with a built-in transformer without it flickering at low load?
The HT-826 has its transformer concealed in the fixture with a 1W minimum load, which is what allows a low-wattage LED MR16 to run on it. Many magnetic low voltage heads need far more load than an LED draws. Dimming is smooth and continuous down to 10 percent, but only on an electronic low voltage (ELV) dimmer.
4) Can the HT-826 track head be used in a bathroom, covered patio or walk-in cooler?
No. The Dune HT-826 head is UL and cUL Listed for dry locations and indoor use only, so keep it out of damp or wet areas such as shower zones, exterior soffits and refrigerated rooms. Retail floors, lobbies, guest rooms and residential interiors are the intended spots.
5) Does the WAC HT-826 track head meet California Title 24 for a commercial lighting job?
Yes. The HT-826 is listed as Title 24 compliant and CEC listed, which is what a California specifier or inspector will be looking for on an accent lighting circuit. It is not Energy Star qualified.
6) What dimmer do I need for the WAC HT-826 low voltage track head?
Use an electronic low voltage (ELV) dimmer. A standard incandescent or forward-phase wall dimmer is not the right control for this head, and the 100 to 10 percent smooth dimming range quoted only applies with an ELV control.
7) How far can I aim the WAC Dune HT-826 head once it is on the track?
