Build an economical and versatile layered LED Tape light system using Basics or Gemini. Basics & Gemini LED tape lights are easy-to-setup with seamless and scalable run lengths, sharing power supplies and components. Basics LED Tape delivers precision and performance with two selectable power outputs and five selectable color temperatures from warm 2700K to cool 5000 Kelvin. Gemini is a continuous phosphorus (COB) tape that eliminates unsightly diode imaging and great for applications where the LED Tape Light is reflected or in direct sight.

  • Flexible and customizable with a low profile. Use with universal input voltage 120-220-277V power supply: PS-24DC-U and T24-BS-EX2 lead wire required or 120VAC power supply: EN-BT60 with lead wire included.
  • Basics LED tape light can be cut in the field every 4in and re-connected with safe and secure connectors. Gemini LED tape light can be cut in the field every 2in and re-connected with safe and secure connectors. Smooth robust illumination deployed from evenly placed UV coated LEDs for cove, accent and task lighting applications.
  • Smooth and continuous dimming with an electronic low voltage dimmer (ELV), TRIAC or 0-10V (0-10V only available with PS-24DC-U power Supply). Dimmers should be installed on the primary side of the transformer. Driver input voltage: 120V-220V-277V AC, Driver output voltage: 24V DC. Driver is available in a 288W max load.

1) What does the WAC Lighting T24-BS-IC-006 joiner cable actually do?
It's a 6 inch 24VDC jumper that ties two runs of WAC Basics or Gemini LED tape together while carrying power through, so both sections stay lit off the same supply. Use it to jump a corner, a seam, or a gap between cabinet sections instead of trying to bend the tape. Wire length is 6 inches.
2) Can this joiner cable be used inside a wall?
Yes. The Basics and Gemini 6 inch joiner cable is in-wall rated, and it is UL and cUL Listed for damp locations at IP20. It is an indoor part, so keep it out of wet exterior locations.
3) Will this joiner work with both Basics and Gemini tape light, or do I need a different cable for each?
One part covers both. Basics and Gemini share power supplies and components, and the T24-BS-IC-006 is specified for both tapes at 24VDC. What differs is where you can cut: Basics can be field cut every 4 inches, Gemini every 2 inches, then reconnected with the connectors.
4) What power supply and lead wire do I need to order with this to make a complete run?
The joiner alone does not feed the run. With the universal 120/220/277V supply PS-24DC-U you also need the T24-BS-EX2 lead wire. With the 120VAC EN-BT60 supply, the lead wire is included. The PS-24DC-U is available in a 288W max load version.
5) What finishes does the WAC 6 inch joiner cable come in, and why does it matter?
Two: black (T24-BS-IC-006-BK) and white (T24-BS-IC-006-WT). Pick the one that disappears against the surface, since a joiner is often the one visible piece where tape crosses a cove seam or cabinet gap.
6) Does using joiner cables affect dimming on a Basics or Gemini tape run?
No, dimming stays on the line side. The system dims smoothly with an ELV, TRIAC, or 0-10V control (0-10V only with the PS-24DC-U supply), and dimmers must be installed on the primary side of the transformer, not between the tape sections where the joiner sits.
7) Does this WAC tape light system meet Title 24 and ADA for a commercial job?
Yes on both. The Basics and Gemini system is CEC Title 24 compliant and ADA compliant, Energy Star listed, and UL and cUL Listed. Useful when a spec sheet reviewer needs the cove lighting to clear California energy code.
