WAC Lighting 8.25" WAC LED 12V Grand Accent Light

Function meets durability with the WAC Landscape Lighting LED accent light, available in 12V or 120V in a wide range of color temperature options. A simple twist of the fixture at indexed intervals (15, 30, 45, 60 degree indexes) allows continuous beam angle adjustment from flood to spot while a mechanical dial at the base provides smooth integral brightness control. One sku fits most applications, eliminating the need to choose from dozens of light bulbs with varying beam angles and light outputs when compared with traditional landscape accent lights. This accent light is factory sealed and water tight with an IP66 rating for protection against high-pressure water jets and outdoor elements. A detachable shroud is included along with a 9in mounting spike for 12V fixtures (120V fixtures require Sku# M6000-STAKE, power stake sold separately). Includes a 3ft lead wire and two gel filled direct burial wire nuts. Casted using a special k-alloy aluminum that is engineered to withstand the most challenging environments over time. 1) Does the WAC 5211 Grand Accent Light come with a transformer, or do I need one?
You need one. The 5211 Grand accent light runs on 12V input (9-15V AC) and a magnetic or electronic power supply is required and sold separately. It ships with a 9 inch mounting spike, a detachable shroud, a 3 foot lead wire and two gel filled direct burial wire nuts, so the fixture side of the job is covered, but the transformer is not part of the package.
2) Which WAC 5211 finish should I use on a coastal or oceanfront property?
Use the -BBR version, solid brass coated in bronze, which WAC recommends for coastal and marine environments because of the corrosive salt air. The black (-BK) and bronze (-BZ) versions are cast k-alloy aluminum, fine for inland landscapes. All three are IP66 rated and wet location listed.
3) What dimmer works with the WAC 5211 landscape accent light?
Magnetic low voltage (MLV) dimming only. Paired with an MLV dimmer on the transformer's line side, the 12V Grand accent dims smoothly. It is not a TRIAC/ELV or 0-10V fixture, so specify the dimmer accordingly on the control schedule.
4) Will the WAC 5211 hold up to sprinkler spray and direct burial wiring?
It is factory sealed and water tight at IP66, which covers high pressure water jets, and it is listed for wet locations under UL and cUL 1838. The two gel filled direct burial wire nuts supplied with the 3 foot lead let you make the splice to the run below grade.
5) What color temperatures does the WAC Grand Accent Light 5211 come in, and which is typical for residential landscape?
Three: 2700K, 3000K and 4000K, each available in black, bronze, or solid brass coated in bronze. 2700K reads warm and is the usual choice for plantings and residential facades, 3000K is common on commercial and hospitality exteriors, and 4000K is a cooler, whiter light often used for signage and security. Color temperature is fixed at the time of order, so match the rest of the site.
6) What is the power draw of the WAC 5211 so I can size the transformer?
15 to 35W depending on where the integral brightness dial is set, with a 44VA maximum. Size the low voltage transformer on the VA figure at full output, not the low end, if you want headroom to open the fixtures up later.
7) Is the WAC 5211 a 120V line voltage fixture?
No. This one is the 12V version, hardwired to a low voltage supply. The 120V version of the Grand accent is a different order and requires the M6000-STAKE power stake, sold separately, in place of the spike that comes with the 12V fixture.
8) How big is the WAC 5211 accent light, and how far does the lead wire reach?
The fixture measures 8.25 inches long, 7.25 inches high and 3.58 inches wide, with a 36 inch (3 foot) lead wire off the base. Plan the splice point within three feet of the fixture location, and remember the included 9 inch spike sets below that.
9) Can I mount the WAC 5211 on a wall or a tree instead of spiking it in the ground?
The 12V Grand accent ships with a 9 inch ground spike as the standard mount. WAC offers separate accessories for other mounting methods and for glare control, and those are ordered separately. Note the fixture is not reversible mounted, so orient it at install.
