WAC Lighting 6.13" WAC LED 12V Accent Light

Function meets durability with the WAC Landscape Lighting LED accent light, available in 12V or 120V in a wide range of color temperature options. A simple twist of the fixture at indexed intervals (15, 30, 45, 60 degree indexes) allows continuous beam angle adjustment from flood to spot while a mechanical dial at the base provides smooth integral brightness control. One sku fits most applications, eliminating the need to choose from dozens of light bulbs with varying beam angles and light outputs when compared with traditional landscape accent lights. This accent light is factory sealed and water tight with an IP66 rating for protection against high-pressure water jets and outdoor elements. 1) What else do I need to order to run a WAC 5011 12V landscape accent light?
The 5011 is a 12V fixture, so a magnetic or electronic power supply is required and sold separately. The fixture itself ships with a detachable shroud, a 9 inch mounting spike, a 3 foot lead wire and two gel filled direct burial wire nuts, so for a basic spike-mounted run you only need the transformer and your burial cable. Other mounting brackets and glare control accessories are separate items.
2) Can one WAC 5011 accent light do both uplighting a tree and washing a wall, or do I need different beam angles?
One fixture covers both. The 5011 adjusts continuously from spot to flood by twisting the head at indexed intervals (15, 30, 45 and 60 degree indexes), giving a 10 to 60 degree beam, and a mechanical dial at the base trims brightness from 50 to 1160 lumens at 2 to 16W. That means you can stock a single part number across a property instead of matching lamps by beam spread and output.
3) Will the WAC 5011 hold up in a coastal or marine installation?
For salt air, order the -BBR version, which is solid brass coated in bronze and recommended for coastal or marine environments. The black and bronze finishes are cast k-alloy aluminum, which is built for harsh conditions but is not the corrosion-resistant option. All versions are factory sealed and water tight at IP66 and wet location rated.
4) I need this fixture on 120V line voltage instead of 12V. Is the 5011 the right part?
No. The 5011 is the 12V version and needs a low voltage transformer. WAC offers the same accent light in a 120V build, and those 120V fixtures do not include a spike, they require the M6000-STAKE power stake ordered separately. If your run is line voltage, buy the 120V model rather than this one.
5) What dimmer works with the WAC 5011 landscape light?
Dimming is magnetic low voltage (MLV) only, and it is smooth and continuous through that dimmer. There is also a mechanical dial on the fixture base for setting brightness at the fixture, which is often all an installer uses on a landscape run. Do not put it on an electronic low voltage or standard incandescent dimmer.
6) What color temperatures and finishes does the WAC 12V 5011 accent light come in?
Three color temperatures, 2700K, 3000K and 4000K, each in three finishes: black, bronze, and solid brass coated in bronze. All nine combinations exist, so the part numbers run 5011-27BK through 5011-40BBR. If you are adding fixtures to an existing property, match the CCT code in the part number so the new heads do not read warmer or cooler than the ones already in the ground.
7) Is the WAC 5011 accent light Title 24 compliant for a California job?
Yes, it is Title 24 compliant, and it carries UL and cUL listing to 1838 for low voltage landscape lighting plus an IP66 wet location rating. It is also flagged ADA compliant. It is not Energy Star rated.
8) What input voltage range does the 12V WAC 5011 tolerate on a long landscape run?
Input is 9 to 15V AC, which gives you some headroom for voltage drop on longer 12V runs. Draw is 2 to 16W depending on where you set the output dial, 23VA, so size the transformer off the high end if you plan to run fixtures at full brightness.
