1) Does the WAC 5021-CC color changing wall wash come with a transformer, or do I need to buy one separately?
You need a power supply. The 5021-CC is a 12V fixture and requires a magnetic or electronic low voltage power supply, sold separately. Size it against the fixture's 0.5-14.5W draw (17VA) and allow for every other fixture on the same run. Input range is 9-15V AC, so a standard landscape transformer tap works.
2) Can I dim this WAC RGBW landscape wall wash with a standard low voltage dimmer?
Two paths. Color and brightness are controlled over Bluetooth through the free WAC Landscape Lighting app on iOS or Android, which is the primary dimming method. The fixture also dims smoothly and continuously on a magnetic low voltage (MLV) dimmer upstream. A TRIAC or ELV dimmer is not what this fixture calls for.
3) Can this WAC landscape wall wash sit in a planting bed that gets hit by irrigation and pressure washing?
It's built for that. The fixture is factory sealed and water tight at IP66, which covers high pressure water jets, and it is UL and cUL listed and wet location rated for outdoor use. A clear glass lens fronts the LED. Direct burial is accounted for in the wiring, too.
4) What's in the box with the 5021-CC, and what do I still need to order to finish the install?
Shipped with the fixture: a 9 inch mounting spike, a 36 inch (3ft) lead wire, and two gel filled direct burial wire nuts for the splice to your main run. The LED is integrated, so there's no lamp to buy. Still needed separately: the 12V magnetic or electronic power supply, your low voltage cable, and any accessory mounting bases or glare shields and louvers if you want to cut spill from the 60 degree beam.
5) What color temperatures can the WAC 5021-CC produce?
Full RGBW color range plus tunable white from 1600K to 8000K, all set from the app. That means one fixture covers warm 2700K accent wash on stone, cool white for security light, and saturated color for holidays without swapping anything out. CRI is 85 and output runs up to 430Lm.
6) Is a wall wash the right fixture for lighting up a stone facade, or should I use an accent spot instead?
For a broad even sweep across a wall, the wall wash is the right pick: a 60 degree beam spreads light across the surface rather than punching a tight column up a tree trunk. Use an accent or spot fixture when you want to pick out a single specimen tree or architectural detail, and a well light when the fixture has to sit flush in grade or hardscape. 7) How many of these can I run before I need another transformer?
Budget by the fixture's 17VA rating rather than its wattage. At 17VA each, ten fixtures is 170VA, and standard practice is to load a landscape transformer to roughly 80 percent of its rated capacity, so a 300VA unit comfortably carries that group with headroom for voltage drop on long runs.
