Build an economical and versatile layered LED Tape light system using Basics or Gemini. Basics & Gemini LED tape lights are easy-to-setup with seamless and scalable run lengths, sharing power supplies and components. Basics LED Tape delivers precision and performance with two selectable power outputs and five selectable color temperatures from warm 2700K to cool 5000 Kelvin. Gemini is a continuous phosphorus (COB) tape that eliminates unsightly diode imaging and great for applications where the LED Tape Light is reflected or in direct sight.
  • Tape-to-Power I Connector can be used to connect a strip of Basics & Gemini Tape Light to an open spliced wire together with power continuity.

1) What does the WAC T24-BS-PM Power-to-Tape connector actually do in a tape light run?
The T24-BS-PM is a power feed connector: it joins a cut end of WAC Basics or Gemini LED tape to open spliced wire so power carries through to the tape. It is the piece you use where the lead wire from the driver meets the start of the tape run, rather than a tape-to-tape splice.
2) What else do I need to order with the WAC T24-BS-PM to get a Basics tape run powered up?
That depends on which power supply you run. With the universal input 120-220-277V supply, the PS-24DC-U, you also need the T24-BS-EX2 lead wire, which is a separate order. With the 120VAC supply, the EN-BT60, the lead wire comes included and you do not need to add it. Either way the connector itself is only the joint between that wire and the tape.
3) Can I cut WAC Basics or Gemini tape and feed power at the cut end with this connector?
Yes, that is the normal use. Basics tape cuts in the field every 4 inches and Gemini every 2 inches, and the cut end reconnects with these connectors. Gemini's 2 inch cut interval gives you finer placement when a cove or cabinet run has to land on an exact length.
4) Can this WAC tape light connector go in a bathroom or a covered exterior soffit?
Damp location is the limit. The Basics and Gemini system is UL and cUL Listed for damp locations and IP20 rated, which covers an indoor bath or a protected soffit but not a wet location with direct water contact or a fully exposed exterior run.
5) How much room does the WAC Power-to-Tape I connector take up inside a channel or cove?
It measures 0.68 x 0.57 x 0.38 inches, so it is small enough to tuck inside most cove details and under-cabinet returns. Check the internal width of your extrusion against the 0.68 inch figure before you commit to hiding the joint inside the channel.
6) Does the WAC Basics tape light system meet Title 24 and ADA for a California commercial job?
Yes on both. The system is CEC Title 24 compliant and ADA compliant, and it is CEC listed and Energy Star. For a spec-driven institutional or multi-family project in California that is usually the gate the submittal has to clear.
7) Will adding a power feed connector mid-run affect dimming on the tape?
No, the connector just carries power through. Dimming is set by the driver and the dimmer, and the system takes ELV, TRIAC or 0-10V, with 0-10V only available when you run the PS-24DC-U supply. Put the dimmer on the primary side of the transformer, not between the connector and the tape.
8) Is the WAC T24-BS-PM the same connector for both Basics and Gemini tape?
One part covers both. Basics and Gemini share power supplies and components, so the Power-to-Tape I connector works on either tape. That matters if you are running COB Gemini in sightline areas and standard Basics elsewhere on the same job; you stock one connector, not two.
9) How many feet of tape can I run off one driver before I need another feed?
The driver side sets that limit: WAC offers the driver in a 288W max load, and Basics tape draws at either the 100+ lm/ft or the 200+ lm/ft output you select, at 90+ CRI and 80,000 rated hours. Total your run's per-foot wattage against 288W and add a second driver and feed point where you exceed it.
10) What finish does the WAC Power-to-Tape I connector come in?
Clear only, ordered as T24-BS-PM-CL, with an aluminum base. Clear keeps the joint visually quiet where the tape is not fully concealed, which is the common case in a shallow cove.
