WAC Lighting Basics and Gemini 24VDC Tape-to-Tape L Connector
Build an economical and versatile layered LED Tape light system using Basics or Gemini. Basics & Gemini LED tape lights are easy-to-setup with seamless and scalable run lengths, sharing power supplies and components. Basics LED Tape delivers precision and performance with two selectable power outputs and five selectable color temperatures from warm 2700K to cool 5000 Kelvin. Gemini is a continuous phosphorus (COB) tape that eliminates unsightly diode imaging and great for applications where the LED Tape Light is reflected or in direct sight.- Tape-to-Tape L Connector can be used to connect two strips of Basics & Gemini Tape Light together to form a 90 degree angle with power continuity.
- Flexible and customizable with a low profile. Use with universal input voltage 120-220-277V power supply: PS-24DC-U and T24-BS-EX2 lead wire required or 120VAC power supply: EN-BT60 with lead wire included.
- Basics LED tape light can be cut in the field every 4in and re-connected with safe and secure connectors. Gemini LED tape light can be cut in the field every 2in and re-connected with safe and secure connectors. Smooth robust illumination deployed from evenly placed UV coated LEDs for cove, accent and task lighting applications.
- Smooth and continuous dimming with an electronic low voltage dimmer (ELV), TRIAC or 0-10V (0-10V only available with PS-24DC-U power Supply). Dimmers should be installed on the primary side of the transformer. Driver input voltage: 120V-220V-277V AC, Driver output voltage: 24V DC. Driver is available in a 288W max load.
- High Powered LED's 90+ CRI, Rated Hours: 80,000, Voltage: 24V, Lumen Options: 100+ lm/ft, or 200+ lm/ft.
- Standards: UL & cUL Listed for Damp Locations IP20 rated. CEC Title 24 & ADA Compliant.

WAC Lighting T24-BS-L-CL – Frequently Asked Questions
1) How do I turn a 90 degree corner with WAC Basics or Gemini LED tape light in a cove?
The T24-BS-L tape-to-tape L connector joins two runs of WAC Basics or Gemini 24VDC tape at a 90 degree angle and carries power through the corner, so the second run stays on the same circuit and driver. No soldering and no separate feed at the corner. Because Basics tape cuts in the field every 4 inches and Gemini every 2 inches, you cut each leg to land at the corner and terminate both ends into the connector.
2) Will the WAC T24-BS-L L connector work with 12V tape light or another brand's strip?
No. The T24-BS-L is a 24V DC connector built for WAC's Basics and Gemini tape light, and it mates to those tapes' contact pitch and width. Put it on a 12V strip and the tape is under-driven; put it on another manufacturer's tape and the pads will not line up. Match it to Basics or Gemini running on a 24V DC driver.
3) What else do I need to order besides the L connector to power a WAC Basics tape light run?
The L connector only carries power between two tape runs, it does not feed the system. For the universal 120-220-277V supply you need the PS-24DC-U plus a T24-BS-EX2 lead wire, which is ordered separately. If you go with the 120VAC EN-BT60 supply, the lead wire is included with it. The PS-24DC-U driver is available in a 288W max load, and it is the only one of the two that gives you 0-10V dimming.
4) Can I use a WAC L connector in a bathroom or a kitchen soffit?
Basics and Gemini tape light is UL and cUL Listed for damp locations at IP20, and it is an indoor product. Damp covers a bathroom ceiling, a covered soffit, or a kitchen cove where the part sees humidity but never direct water. IP20 means no protection against water spray or jets, so it does not go in a shower, in a wet location, or outdoors.
5) Does WAC Basics tape light with these connectors meet Title 24 and ADA for a commercial job?
Yes on both. The Basics and Gemini system is CEC Title 24 and ADA compliant, and it is Energy Star listed. For a California project the CEC listing is the one your inspector wants, and the low profile of the tape and the L connector keeps a cove or under-cabinet install inside ADA projection limits.
6) How much space does the WAC tape-to-tape L connector need inside an aluminum channel or a tight cove?
The connector body measures 0.57 x 0.38 x 0.68 inches, so allow roughly three quarters of an inch of clearance at the corner in both directions. That is small enough to sit inside most extrusions, but the corner of a mitered channel is where installers run out of room, so check the inside corner of your profile before you commit the cut.
7) Will the tape still dim smoothly after I splice a corner with an L connector?
Dimming is unaffected, because the L connector passes 24V DC straight through rather than switching or regulating anything. Basics and Gemini dim with an ELV, TRIAC, or 0-10V control, and the dimmer belongs on the primary side of the transformer, not between the driver and the tape. 0-10V requires the PS-24DC-U supply.
8) Can I mix Basics and Gemini tape on the same run using this connector?
Both tapes are 24VDC and share power supplies and components, and the T24-BS-L is listed for either one, so the corner hardware is not what stops you. Worth knowing before you plan it: Gemini is a continuous phosphor COB tape with no visible diode imaging, while Basics is a discrete-diode tape. Put them in the same sightline and the difference in appearance shows, so mix them between separate coves rather than across one corner.
9) What finish does the WAC T24-BS-L tape-to-tape connector come in?
Clear, ordered as T24-BS-L-CL, and that is the only version. Clear reads as near-invisible against the white tape backing, which matters when the connector sits in an open cove or under a cabinet lip where it can be seen. The body is aluminum-based.
10) Is the WAC tape-to-tape L connector a plug-in part or does it need to be wired by an electrician?
It is a plug-in connection on the low voltage side, no hardwiring at the joint. The tape ends terminate into the connector and power continues through. The line voltage work stays at the driver, which takes 120V, 220V, or 277V AC input and puts out 24V DC.
