The JFC is the power feed point for a WAC J Track system. It mounts over the junction box and feeds 120V into the track, so the electrical connection sits at the box rather than at the end of the track run. It is a hardwired component, not a plug-in feed, so it needs a J-box and a licensed connection.
2) How much of the ceiling does the JFC canopy cover, and will it hide a standard 4-inch octagon box?
The canopy measures 4.63 x 4.63 inches with a 1.39 inch height, so it covers a standard 4 inch octagonal or round ceiling box footprint and projects under an inch and a half below the ceiling plane.
3) Can I use the JFC track connector in a covered exterior walkway or a bathroom over a shower?
No. The JFC is rated for interior dry locations only. Damp or wet areas, including exterior soffits and shower zones, need a fixture and feed rated for that location.
4) Does ordering the JFC get me a working track light, or do I need more parts?
It is a component only, not a complete system. You still need J Track sections, the mounting hardware for those sections, track heads, and any connectors or end caps for the layout. The JFC just brings 120V power into the run at the junction box.
5) What finishes does the WAC J Track floating canopy connector come in for matching existing track?
