WAC Lighting WAC-LCORDSET – Frequently Asked Questions

1) How long is the cord on the WAC Lighting LCORDSET L Track power cord set?
The cord measures 180 inches of wire, which is the 15 feet called out in the name. That gives you a long run from the track's live end back to a wall outlet or junction point without splicing in extra conductor.
2) What track system does the WAC LCORDSET cord set fit?
It is built for WAC Lighting's L Track collection as a track accessory, so it mates with L Track sections and ends. It is not a luminaire and not a complete lighting system on its own, you still need the track, connectors and heads.
3) Can I use this WAC L Track power cord outdoors or in a covered patio or bathroom?
No. The LCORDSET cord set is rated for dry locations and interior use only. For a damp or wet application, such as a covered porch, exterior soffit or a shower area, you need a feed and track listed for that location instead.
4) Is the WAC LCORDSET a plug-in cord or does it get hardwired?
It is classified as hardwired at 120 volts, so plan on a line-voltage connection rather than treating it as a portable plug-in accessory. Have an electrician terminate it to the 120V branch circuit feeding the track.
5) What finishes does the WAC L Track 15FT cord set come in?
Two: black (LCORDSET-BK) and white (LCORDSET-WT). Pick the one that matches your track so the cord disappears against it, white track with the white cord, black track with the black.
6) Is the WAC LCORDSET UL listed for a commercial job?
It carries UL and cUL safety listings, which covers both US and Canadian inspection. It is not Energy Star and not Title 24 compliant, and it is not an ADA item, so do not count it toward a Title 24 lighting submittal.
7) What is the cord set body made of, and how bulky is the connector?
The housing is plastic, and the component profile is small: 0.39 inch height and 0.39 inch width, with the 180 inch length being the cord itself. It tucks tight to the track end rather than standing proud of it.
8) Can the WAC LCORDSET be mounted either way up on the track?
No, it is not a reversible-mounting component, so it installs in one orientation at the track end. Confirm which end of the run is your feed point before you set the track so the cord exits toward the power source.
