1) What does the WAC Lighting L Track live end connector actually do on a track run?
It is the power feed for an L Track run. The live end connector brings 120V line power into the end of the track, so every run that is not fed from a power feed elsewhere needs one. It is a hardwired component, not a plug-in, so it ties into a junction box or supply wiring run by an electrician.
2) Will the WAC LLE live end connector work with WAC H track or J track?
No. The LLE is built for the WAC L Track system only. WAC's H, J and L track profiles use different conductor geometry and the connectors are not interchangeable, so an L Track live end will not seat or power an H or J run. Match the connector to the track letter already installed.
3) Can I use this WAC track live end connector in a covered exterior soffit or a bathroom with a shower?
No. The LLE live end connector is rated for dry interior locations only. Damp or wet areas, including an open shower zone or an exterior soffit, call for a track system rated for those conditions. It carries UL and cUL safety listing for dry interior use.
4) How much space does the WAC L Track live end connector take up at the end of the track?
The connector body measures 4.25 x 1.39 x 0.75 inches, with a backplate of the same footprint (4.25 inch width, 1.39 inch depth, 0.75 inch height). The 0.75 inch height is the key number for a tight ceiling or cove condition, since it is what projects below the track line at the feed end.
5) What finishes does the WAC LLE live end connector come in, and can I match it to my track?
Three finishes: black (LLE-BK), brushed nickel (LLE-BN) and white (LLE-WT). Order the one matching the L Track extrusion and heads already on the job so the feed end does not read as a different part on an exposed ceiling.
6) Does the WAC LLE live end come with track, heads, or mounting hardware to complete the job?
No, it is a single component and not a complete system. You still need the L Track sections, track heads, and a dead end or end cap for the opposite end of the run. Specify those separately alongside the live end.
7) Will this WAC track connector satisfy a California Title 24 or Energy Star requirement on my project?
No. The LLE live end connector is neither Title 24 compliant nor Energy Star rated, and it is not ADA compliant. On a project carrying those requirements, the compliance has to come from the luminaires and controls rather than this power feed component.
