1) Can the WAC 2541 indicator light run off a standard 120V circuit?
No. The 2541 surface mounted indicator light is a 12V fixture and has to be fed from a low voltage landscape transformer, not line voltage. It is hardwired, draws 2.8W, and comes with 36 inches of lead wire for splicing into the low voltage run.
2) Is this WAC indicator light rated for wet locations like a stair tread or dock edge?
Yes. The 2541 carries a Wet location rating and an IP66 rating along with UL and cUL listings, so direct rain and washdown exposure are fine. It is an outdoor-rated fixture with a stainless steel base and clear glass lens.
3) What size hole or surface do I need for the WAC 2541 round indicator light?
It is a surface mount disc, 2.88 inches across and only 0.79 inches high, so it sits nearly flush on top of the surface rather than dropping into a cored hole. You only need a wire pass-through for the 36 inch lead. Mounting is not reversible, so plan the orientation before you fasten it.
4) How much light does a 2.8W LED path indicator actually put out, and what is it for?
60 lumens. That is a marker, not an area light. The 2541 is a path indicator light meant to show you where a step, edge, or walkway turn is, not to illuminate the ground around it. If you need usable light on the walking surface, pair it with a proper path or step light.
5) Which color temperature and finish combinations does the WAC 2541 come in?
Four orderable builds: 2700K or 3000K, each in natural Stainless Steel or Stainless Steel Coated in Bronze. The part numbers are 2541-27SS, 2541-27BS, 2541-30SS and 2541-30BS. Pick 2700K to match older warm landscape runs, 3000K to match newer fixtures.
6) Can I dim these indicator lights, and what dimmer do I need?
Dimming on the 2541 is MLV (magnetic low voltage). Use a magnetic low voltage dimmer on the transformer's line side; an ELV or standard incandescent dimmer will not control it correctly.
7) Will the WAC 2541 meet California Title 24 and ADA requirements on a commercial walkway?
Both are covered: the 2541 is listed Title 24 compliant and ADA compliant. At 0.79 inches high it projects well under the limit that governs wall-mounted protruding objects, which is what the ADA call-out reflects. It is not Energy Star rated.
8) Will stainless steel marker lights hold up in a coastal or pool deck installation?
The 2541 is built on a stainless steel base with a clear glass lens and is IP66 rated for wet locations, which is the construction you want near salt air or chlorinated splash. The bronze-coated version is the same stainless body with a coating, so if you expect coating wear in a harsh exposure, the natural Stainless Steel build (2541-27SS or 2541-30SS) ages more predictably.
9) Do I need to order lamps separately for this WAC marker light?
No separate lamp. The 2541 uses an integrated LED, one source, included in the fixture, rated at 70,000 average hours. There is no socket, so when the LED reaches end of life the fixture is replaced rather than relamped.
10) How many of these can I put on one low voltage landscape transformer?
Each 2541 draws 2.8W at 12V, so the load adds up slowly. Total your fixture wattage, add the usual headroom for the transformer, and size accordingly. Keep the run length and wire gauge in mind as well, since each fixture only brings 36 inches of lead and the rest is your home run cable.
