1) Can the WAC 2591 indicator light run on a standard 120V landscape circuit, or does it need a transformer?
It's a 12V fixture, so it has to run off the low voltage side of a landscape transformer, not a 120V branch circuit. It draws 2.8W, so a run of these adds up slowly on the transformer budget. It is hardwired, with a 36 inch lead and two Ideal direct burial wire nuts in the box for the splice to your main run.
2) Will the WAC 2591 surface mount indicator light survive being washed over or sitting in standing water on a deck or step?
It is rated for wet locations and carries an IP66 rating along with UL and cUL listing, so rain, irrigation spray and hose-down are within its rating. The body is stainless steel with a clear glass lens, and the LED module is factory sealed. IP66 covers powerful water jets, not continuous submersion, so keep it out of spots that pond and stay flooded.
3) How big is the hole and footprint I need for the WAC 2591 surface mounted indicator light?
It's a surface mount puck measuring 2.88 inches across and 0.79 inches tall, so it sits nearly flush on top of a step, cap or deck board and only needs a wire pass-through beneath it, not a full recessed cavity. Mounting hardware is included in the box. Mounting is not reversible, so plan the orientation before you fasten it down.
4) Is 60 lumens enough to light a stair tread, or is this just a marker light?
At 60 lumens it is a marker, not a task light. The single directional top-mounted optic throws light out over the surface it sits on so the edge of a step or the line of a path reads at night. If you need the walking surface actually illuminated, pair these with a proper path or step light and use the 2591 for edge definition.
5) Which dimmer works with the WAC 2591 12V indicator light?
Dimming is MLV, magnetic low voltage. That means the dimmer goes on the 120V line side of a magnetic low voltage transformer, and both the dimmer and the transformer have to be MLV rated. An ELV or standard incandescent dimmer on a magnetic system will give you flicker or buzz.
6) What color temperature and finish combinations does the WAC 2591 come in?
Four builds: 2700K or 3000K, each in natural stainless steel or stainless steel coated in bronze. The part numbers run 2591-27SS, 2591-27BS, 2591-30SS and 2591-30BS. Pick 2700K for a warm amber look next to landscape fixtures, 3000K if you're matching architectural exterior lighting that already runs 3000K.
7) Can the LED be replaced in the WAC 2591, or is the whole fixture disposable when it fails?
The LED is integrated and factory sealed, so there is no serviceable lamp; when it reaches end of life you replace the fixture. Rated life is 70,000 hours, which on a dusk-to-dawn schedule is a long maintenance cycle. For a large property, buy a couple of spares in the same color temperature and finish so a future replacement matches the run.
8) Does the WAC 2591 indicator light meet California Title 24 and ADA requirements for a commercial exterior?
It is listed as Title 24 compliant and ADA compliant. The ADA side follows from the form factor: at 0.79 inches tall it is a top surface mount that does not project into a path of travel the way a wall-mounted sconce does. It is not Energy Star rated.

The bronze version is stainless steel with a bronze coating over it, so the underlying corrosion resistance is the same in either finish.
11) Can I use the WAC 2591 indoors, like on an interior stair nosing?
It is specified as an outdoor fixture. Nothing about a 12V wet-rated stainless puck stops it working under a roof, but the fixture is catalogued and rated for exterior use, and on an interior stair you would be pulling a low voltage run to a location where a listed interior step light is the straightforward spec.
