1) Can the WAC 2012 inground indicator light be buried in grade and driven over or walked on?
The 2012 is a 12V inground indicator light rated for wet locations and sealed to IP66, with a stainless steel body, so it is built to sit in grade and take weather and irrigation. It is an indicator-style marker light, not a rated drive-over in-grade fixture, so keep it out of vehicle paths and use it for walkway edges, steps, and planting beds.
2) What size hole do I need to cut for the WAC 2012 path indicator light?
The fixture body measures 1.88 inches in diameter and 3.13 inches tall, with an overall footprint of 2.07 by 2.07 inches at the top. Plan your core or bore around the 1.88 inch barrel and allow depth for the 3.13 inch height plus the wire exit below.
3) Does the WAC 2012 run off a standard 12V landscape transformer?
Yes. It is a hardwired 12V fixture drawing 4W, so it lands on a standard low voltage landscape transformer secondary. At 4W each you can put a lot of them on one run, but size the transformer and wire gauge for total connected load and voltage drop over the run length.
4) What comes in the box with the WAC 2012 inground light, and do I need to buy anything else?
Each unit ships as a complete fixture with a factory sealed LED, 36 inches of lead wire, a hardware pack, a spring retention clip, two Ideal direct burial wire nuts, and an interchangeable faceplate. The direct burial nuts mean you can splice to your main run without buying connectors. You still supply the 12V transformer and the landscape cable.
5) Is 36 inches of lead wire enough, or do I need a junction box near each fixture?
Each fixture carries a 36 inch factory lead, and it ships with two Ideal direct burial wire nuts. That is meant for a direct buried splice to the main cable run, so no box is needed at the fixture. If your trunk line sits more than about a yard from the fixture location, run a pigtail out to it rather than stretching the lead.
6) Will the WAC 2012 dim on my landscape lighting dimmer?
It dims on MLV (magnetic low voltage) control. Because it runs at 12V, the dimming is done on the line side of a magnetic transformer, not at the fixture, so pair it with an MLV dimmer feeding a magnetic 12V transformer. A TRIAC or ELV dimmer on an electronic transformer is not the specified combination here.
7) How bright is this marker light, and will it glare at eye level?
Output is 200 lumens from a 4W integrated LED behind a clear glass lens. The honeycomb louver faceplate cuts the beam so you see the lit surface rather than the source, which is what makes it usable along a walkway edge or stair riser where people look down the path.
8) Which color temperature and finish should I order to match the rest of my landscape lights?
