1) Can the WAC 1041 inground indicator light be buried in grade or in a walkway where it gets wet?
Yes. The 1041 inground indicator is an outdoor fixture rated for Wet locations and carries UL, cUL and IP66 listings, so direct exposure to rain, irrigation and washdown is within its rating. The body is stainless steel, which is what you want sitting in soil or a paver bed.
2) Does the WAC 1041 run on line voltage or do I need a transformer?
It is a 12V fixture, hardwired, so it runs off a low voltage landscape transformer rather than 120V line. Draw is 2W per fixture, which makes it easy to load a lot of them on one run without oversizing the transformer.
3) Does the WAC 1041 inground light meet Title 24 and ADA requirements?
Both are met. The fixture is listed ADA compliant and CEC Title 24 compliant, which matters on California work and on commercial egress paths where a projecting fixture would be a problem. The inground body sits flush, so there is nothing protruding into the walking route.
4) Will the WAC 1041 dim on my existing landscape dimmer?
It dims on MLV (magnetic low voltage) control. If your run is on an ELV or TRIAC-only dimmer you will get flicker or no dim range, so pair it with a magnetic low voltage transformer and an MLV-rated dimmer.
5) How much lead wire comes on the 1041 and are wire connectors included?
Each fixture ships with 36 inches of lead wire and two Ideal direct burial nuts in the box, so the splice to your main run is covered without a separate connector order. Also included: the complete fixture with factory sealed LED, a hardware pack, spring retention clip and an interchangeable faceplate.
6) How bright is a WAC 1041 indicator light and what is it meant to light?
100 lumens at 2W from a single integrated LED. That is marker-level output, not path illumination: it defines a step edge, a driveway line or a stair nosing rather than lighting the walking surface. If you need to actually light the path, use a taller path light and keep these as indicators.
7) What color temperature and finish combinations can I order the WAC 1041 in?
Four builds total: 2700K or 3000K, each in natural stainless steel or stainless coated in bronze. The part numbers run 1041-27SS, 1041-27BS, 1041-30SS and 1041-30BS. Pick one temperature across the whole run so the markers match.
8) Can I aim the WAC 1041 or flip it to change the light direction?
No. The 1041 is not a reversible mounting fixture and the LED is fixed behind a clear glass lens. Direction is set by how you core the hole, so lay out the bores with the throw you want before drilling. The honeycomb louver faceplate is what controls glare rather than any aiming adjustment.
9) Can the LED be replaced in the WAC 1041, and how long should it last?
The LED is factory sealed and integrated, so there is no lamp to change; when it reaches end of life you replace the fixture. Average rated life is 70,000 hours. The sealed module is what allows the IP66 rating to hold up in grade.
