1) Can the WAC Lighting 2061 inground indicator light be installed in a walkway where it will sit in standing water?
The 2061 inground indicator light is rated for Wet locations and carries a UL, cUL, IP66 safety rating, so it is built for direct outdoor exposure including washdown and rain. IP66 covers dust ingress and high-pressure water jets. Buried installations that sit submerged in pooling water are a different duty than wet-location rated, so plan drainage around the housing in low spots.
2) What transformer or power supply do I need for the WAC 2061 inground light?
It runs on 12V, so it needs a low voltage landscape transformer, not a line voltage feed. Each fixture is hardwired and draws 4W maximum, so you can run a lot of them on a modest transformer, just size for total connected load plus voltage drop on the run. Each unit comes with a 36 inch lead wire for splicing to the home run.
3) Will a 2 inch inground indicator light actually light the path, or is it just a marker?
At 200 lumens from a single integrated 4W LED, the 2061 is a marker light. It defines edges, steps and driveway lines rather than washing a walking surface. If you need usable foot-candles on the path itself, pair these with path or step lights and use the ingrounds for the visual line.
4) Can I dim the WAC 2061 inground light, and what kind of dimmer does it take?
Dimming is magnetic low voltage (MLV). Put the dimmer on the line side of an MLV-compatible 12V magnetic transformer; an ELV or TRIAC-only dimmer paired with an electronic transformer is the wrong combination and will flicker or buzz.
5) What color temperatures and finishes does the WAC 2061 inground indicator light come in?
Four combinations, built from two color temperatures and two finishes: 2700K and 3000K, each in natural Stainless Steel or Stainless Steel Coated in Bronze. The part numbers are 2061-27SS, 2061-27BS, 2061-30SS and 2061-30BS. For matching existing runs on a property, 2700K reads warmer and closer to halogen landscape lighting.
6) Will the stainless housing on the WAC 2061 hold up in a coastal or de-icing salt environment?
The housing is stainless steel, with a bronze-coated stainless option as well. Stainless is the right base material for inground service where the body sits in wet soil and sees road salt or irrigation runoff. The lens is clear glass rather than plastic, so it will not yellow under UV.
7) Does the WAC 2061 inground indicator light meet California Title 24 and ADA requirements?
