1) Will the WAC HTK-730 track head fit my existing H-type track?
The HTK-730 is an H track fixture, so it drops into H-style (Halo pattern) single-circuit track. It will not mount on J or L pattern track without the matching track type. It is a 120 volt line voltage head, so the track run has to be line voltage too, not a low voltage monorail.
2) What bulb does the WAC HTK-730 track head take, and is one included?
It takes a single PAR30 lamp, rated to 75 watts maximum, and no lamp ships with the head. Either an incandescent PAR30 or an LED PAR30 works. If you are lamping a whole run, order the bulbs separately and keep each head at or under 75 watts.
3) Is the WAC HTK-730 track head rated for a covered exterior walkway or a bathroom?
No. It is an interior fixture with a dry location rating only, so keep it out of bathrooms with shower exposure, covered entries, parking structures, and anywhere it can see moisture. For those spots you need a damp or wet rated head.
4) How much clearance do I need below the ceiling for this WAC track head?
Allow about 7-3/4 inches of drop from the track for the head, with a 4-1/2 inch diameter body and a 5 inch length. In low-ceiling retail or corridor work that projection is what decides whether the head sits in the way of doors, shelving, or sprinkler clearance.
5) What finishes does the WAC HTK-730 come in for matching existing heads in a building?
Two finishes: black (HTK-730-BK) and white (HTK-730-WT). If you are adding to an existing run, match the track finish rather than the ceiling, since the head and track sit together visually.
6) Is the WAC HTK-730 UL listed for commercial installs?
It carries UL and cUL listings, which covers both US and Canadian jobs, and it is CEC listed. It is not Energy Star rated and it is not Title 24 compliant, so on a California project needing Title 24 credit for the luminaire you will need a different head.
7) Can the HTK-730 shade be flipped for a different look?
Yes, the shade mounting is reversible, so the same head gives you two profiles depending on which way it is assembled. The body is aluminum, which keeps the weight down on long runs with many heads.
