1) Will the WAC HHT-007LED track head fit my existing H-track system?
It is an H track fixture, so it mounts on H-type (Halo compatible) track only. It will not seat in J or L type track. The head runs on 120V track, so no separate low voltage feed is needed at the ceiling.
2) Does the HHT-007LED track head come with the lamp, or do I have to buy an MR16 separately?
The lamp ships with the head. It is a single MR16 shape LED on a GY5.3 bi-pin base, so if you ever replace it you are buying a standard MR16 GY5.3 LED, not a proprietary module.
3) What dimmer works with this WAC low voltage LED track head?
It dims on ELV (electronic low voltage) control. Pair it with an ELV dimmer rated for LED load; a standard incandescent/forward-phase dimmer is the usual cause of flicker or drop-out on these heads. At 8W per head you can run a lot of them before you approach a typical dimmer's capacity.
4) Can I use this WAC track head in a covered patio or a bathroom over a shower?
No. The HHT-007LED is rated for indoor, dry locations only. Damp or wet areas (exterior soffits, covered porches, shower zones, unconditioned storage) need a damp or wet listed fixture instead.
5) Does this WAC track head meet California Title 24 for a commercial tenant fit-out?
Title 24 compliant and CEC listed, which is what a California plan check and most utility rebate programs ask for. It is also UL and cUL listed for US and Canadian jobs, and flagged ADA compliant. It does not carry an Energy Star listing.
6) What finishes does the HT-007 track head come in for matching the rest of my track run?
Three finishes: black (H-7011/3-930-BK), brushed nickel (H-7011/3-930-PT), and white (H-7011/3-930-WT). Order the head finish to match your track and connectors, since track rail is usually specified separately.
7) How much does this track head hang down from the ceiling?
The body measures 4.5 inches high by 4.5 inches wide by 2.5 inches long with a 2.25 inch diameter, and the maximum height when the head is aimed straight up is 6.5 inches. Worth checking against low-clearance ceilings or any soffit where the track sits tight to a wall.
8) Is this a hardwired fixture or does it plug into the track?
It is a plug-in head, meaning it twists and locks into the electrified H track rather than being wired to a junction box. The track itself carries the 120V feed, so the electrical work happens at the track, not at each head.
9) How long before I have to relamp these track heads?
The LED lamp is rated 25,000 average hours. On a retail schedule of roughly 12 hours a day that is about five to six years before output falls off. The aluminum housing and clear glass lens are what handle the heat in the meantime.
