1) Will the WAC LTK-764 track head fit my existing track, or do I need WAC L-track?
The LTK-764 is an L Track fixture, so it mounts to WAC L-series track only. It will not seat in H-track or J-track, and it will not fit Halo, Juno or Lightolier track without the matching system. It is a line voltage head running at 120V, so the track circuit needs to be standard line voltage, not a low voltage system.
2) What bulb does the WAC LTK-764 track head take, and does it come with one?
It takes a single PAR30 lamp, and no lamp is packed with the head. You can run either an incandescent PAR30 or an LED PAR30, up to 50W on the fixture. For a retail or gallery install, buy the lamps separately and match beam spread to your throw distance.
3) Can the LTK-764 track head go in a covered exterior walkway or a bathroom?
No. The LTK-764 is rated for dry locations and interior use only. Keep it out of covered patios, canopies, shower areas and anywhere that sees steam or splash, those call for a damp or wet rated fixture.
4) How much wattage can I load on a run of LTK-764 heads?
Each LTK-764 head is rated 50W maximum, and that 50W is the total for the fixture since it carries one lamp. Count 50W per head when you size the track circuit, so a 20A 120V run tells you how many heads the branch will carry.
5) How big is the WAC LTK-764 head and how far does it hang off the track?
The head measures 5.21 inches in diameter with a 9.25 inch overall height and a 5 inch length. Allow for that 9.25 inch dimension when you are working under a low ceiling, a soffit or a display case header, and give the head room to swing when you aim it.
6) What finishes does the LTK-764 track head come in for matching the rest of my track run?
Three finishes: Black (LTK-764-BK), Brushed Nickel (LTK-764-BN) and White (LTK-764-WT). White and black are the usual picks for blending into a painted ceiling or a dark open plenum; brushed nickel suits retail and hospitality where the head is meant to be seen. Order your track and connectors in the same finish.
7) Does the WAC LTK-764 meet California Title 24 for a residential or commercial lighting job?
No, the LTK-764 is not Title 24 compliant and it is not Energy Star rated. It is CEC listed, and it carries UL and cUL certification. On a Title 24 job the compliant lighting has to come from elsewhere in the design.
8) Can the LTK-764 head be mounted on track that runs up a wall or is it ceiling only?
It has reversible mounting, so the head can be oriented either way on the track and works on wall-mounted track runs as well as ceiling runs. The body is aluminum, which keeps the weight down on longer cantilevered runs.
