1) Does the WAC Lighting HR-836 trim ring come with an MR16 lamp?
No lamp is included. The HR-836 is the trim ring assembly only, and the LED MR16 lamp has to be ordered separately. A clear lens does come with it, and replaceable lens options are available if you want to change the beam appearance later.
2) Is the HR-836 line voltage or low voltage?
Low voltage. It is a low volt trim built around an MR16 lamp, so the recessed housing behind it has to be a low voltage housing with a transformer. Dropping it into a line voltage can is not a swap you can make.
3) Will the HR-836 hold any LED MR16 lamp I already have on the truck?
It accommodates most LED MR16 lamps, and retention clips hold the lens firmly against the lamp. If you are standardizing a building on one MR16 source, the trim is not what limits you, the housing and its transformer are.
4) What finishes does the WAC HR-836 metal trim ring come in?
Three: brushed nickel (HR-836-BN), copper bronze (HR-836-CB), and white (HR-836-WT). For a lobby or corridor where the other trims are already painted-out white, the WT matches; the BN and CB are the ones people pick when the trim is meant to read as a detail rather than disappear.
5) How do I order a replacement trim ring for an existing WAC 2.5 inch low voltage downlight?
Order by the finish suffix on the base HR-836 number: BN for brushed nickel, CB for copper bronze, WT for white. The trim carries its own clear lens, so a damaged or clouded lens on an existing fixture can be handled by replacing the trim rather than the whole recessed can.
