Modern Forms FR-W2403-65L-BZ – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can the Modern Forms Size Matters FR-W2403 fan be installed on a covered patio or other outdoor location?
Yes. The Size Matters FR-W2403 carries a Wet location rating with an IPX4-rated motor, and it is ETL and cETL Wet Location Listed along with UL, cUL and CSA. That covers covered patios, porches and other exposed outdoor living spaces as well as normal indoor rooms.
2) Will the FR-W2403 Size Matters fan mount on a sloped ceiling?
It installs on slope ceilings up to 30 degrees, and it ships with a 6 inch downrod. For a steeper pitch or a tall great room ceiling you will need a longer downrod than the one in the box.
3) What blade spans does the Modern Forms Size Matters FR-W2403 come in?
Three spans: 56 inch (FR-W2403-56), 65 inch (FR-W2403-65) and 84 inch (FR-W2403-84). All use the same 8-blade ABS design at a 15 degree pitch. At 56 inches the blades measure 24.38 inches each and the fan moves up to 6437 CFM.
4) What is the difference between the FR-W2403-56 and the FR-W2403-56L?
The L suffix is the light kit. Models ending in L include the replaceable LED luminaire with selectable 2700K, 3000K, 4000K and 5000K color temperature at 90 CRI; the plain -56, -65 and -84 are fan only with no light. Order the L version if you need the fixture to light the space.
5) Do I need to buy a wall control for the Size Matters fan, or does it come with one?
A Bluetooth handheld remote with a wall cradle (F-RCBT-WT) is in the box. A hardwired wall control (F-WCBT-WT) is not included and is ordered separately if the job calls for a switched station at the wall rather than a cradle.
6) What voltage and circuit does the Modern Forms FR-W2403 ceiling fan run on?
120V, standard North American line voltage, driving a DC motor. The motor is reversible with 6 selectable speeds, so winter reverse and low-speed circulation are both available without extra hardware.
7) Is the Size Matters smart fan compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant?
Yes. The free Modern Forms app gives Bluetooth control plus breeze mode and adaptive learning, and the fan works with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and Samsung SmartThings.
8) Can the LED light on the Size Matters fan be dimmed, and can the bulb be replaced?
The light kit is dimmable and uses an LED module rather than a screw-in lamp, but the luminaire itself is replaceable, so a failed light does not mean replacing the fan. It is rated 50,000 hours average with a flood distribution and 90 CRI.
9) Which finishes does the Size Matters FR-W2403 fan come in if I am matching several units across a property?
Bronze, Matte Black, Matte White and Matte Black Distressed Koa. The Koa option is offered on the 56 and 65 inch models; the 84 inch sizes come in Bronze, Matte Black and Matte White. Blades are ABS in a matching finish.
10) Is the Modern Forms FR-W2403 fan ADA compliant?
No. The Size Matters fan is not ADA compliant, which matters where a facility spec requires ADA-compliant fixtures in corridors or other protruding-object locations. On an open ceiling in a great room or patio that requirement generally does not apply.
