Modern Forms FR-W2202-54L-BN/EB – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can the Modern Forms Skylark ceiling fan be installed on a covered patio or other outdoor area?
Yes. The Skylark FR-W2202 carries a Wet location rating, with ETL, cETL, UL, cUL and CSA safety listings, so it can go on a covered patio, porch or other damp/wet exposure as well as indoors. The blades are ABS rather than wood veneer, which is what makes that exposure practical.
2) Does the Skylark FR-W2202 come in a size larger than 54 inches?
Yes. The Skylark is ordered as either the FR-W2202-54 or the FR-W2202-62, so a 62 inch sweep is available if you are covering a great room or a wide covered patio. Both models come in six finishes: Brushed Nickel Ebony, Bronze White Oak, Matte Black, Matte White, Soft Brass Matte Black and Soft Brass Matte White.
3) Is a wall control included with the Skylark smart fan, or only a remote?
Only the handheld Bluetooth remote is in the box, model F-RCBT-WT. No wall control is included. If the job spec calls for a wall station, budget for it as a separate line item. The fan can also be run from the Modern Forms app, and it works with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, SmartThings, Control4 and Josh AI over Bluetooth.
4) Can I change the light color temperature on the Modern Forms Skylark after it is installed?
Yes. The integrated LED is selectable across 2700K, 3000K, 4000K and 5000K, so one fan can match warm residential lighting or cooler commercial/outdoor lighting on the same property. Light quality is 90 CRI with a flood spread, and the module is fully dimmable.
5) If the LED burns out on this fan, do I have to replace the whole fan?
No. The Skylark uses a replaceable LED module made by WAC Lighting rather than a sealed, throwaway light. It is rated at 50,000 average hours, and there is no screw-in bulb base, so service means swapping the module, not rewiring a socket.
6) What voltage and circuit does the Skylark DC ceiling fan run on?
It runs on standard 120V line voltage, so it lands on an ordinary residential or light commercial fan circuit. The DC motor is the efficiency story, not a different supply, and Modern Forms rates it up to 70 percent more efficient than a comparable AC fan. It is Energy Star qualified.
7) Is the Modern Forms Skylark fan ADA compliant for a commercial or healthcare project?
No. The Skylark FR-W2202 is not ADA compliant, so if your specification requires ADA-compliant fixtures in that space you need a different product. It is Energy Star qualified and carries UL, cUL, CSA, ETL and cETL Wet listings, which covers most other spec-sheet requirements.
8) Are the Skylark blade finishes the same on both sides, and how do the two-tone finish names work?
The finish names pair the motor housing with the blade color. Brushed Nickel Ebony, for instance, is a brushed nickel body with ebony blades; Soft Brass Matte Black and Soft Brass Matte White are a soft brass body with black or white blades. Matte Black and Matte White are single-tone. Blades are ABS in every case.
