WAC Lighting PD-15547-BK – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can the WAC Super Star linear pendant be installed over a kitchen sink or in a covered outdoor area?
The Super Star PD-155LP is rated for damp locations and ETL/cETL listed, so it can go above a sink or in a bathroom where it may see humidity and condensation. It is not a wet-location fixture, so keep it out of direct rain or spray, which rules out open patios and uncovered exteriors.
2) What dimmer works with the WAC PD-155LP Super Star pendant?
Three control types are supported: 0-10V, electronic low voltage (ELV), and TRIAC. For a residential dining room on a standard wall box, an ELV or TRIAC dimmer is the usual choice. On a commercial job with a lighting control system or Title 24 dimming requirement, the 0-10V input is there. Don't put it on a standard magnetic low-voltage or incandescent-only dimmer.
3) Will the Super Star pendant run on 277V in a commercial building?
Yes. The driver accepts 120V, 240V, or 277V input, so the same fixture works on a residential 120V circuit or a 277V commercial lighting branch with no separate transformer or alternate part number. The driver is concealed in the canopy, and the fixture is hardwired, not plug-in.
4) Do I have to order a specific color temperature for the Super Star pendant, or can it be set on site?
No separate CCT part number is needed. The PD-155LP has built-in 4-CCT selectability, so you can pre-select the color temperature or change it in the field at install. That is useful on multi-unit or hospitality work where one fixture SKU has to match warmer or cooler existing lighting in different spaces.
5) Does the WAC Super Star linear pendant meet California Title 24 and Title 20?
Yes, WAC lists the Super Star PD-155LP as CEC, Title 24, and Title 20 compliant, and it is also ADA compliant. It is not Energy Star certified, so if a rebate program or spec sheet calls specifically for Energy Star, this fixture will not satisfy that line item.
6) What lengths and finishes does the WAC Super Star PD-155LP come in?
Four combinations: 47 inch and 60 inch lengths, each in Black or Brushed Nickel. The 47 inch suits a standard dining table or a shorter island; the 60 inch is the one to spec over a long island or conference table. Both carry the same clear K5 Crystal elements and brass accents between them.
7) Does the WAC PD-155LP need bulbs, and what happens when the LED fails?
Bulbs are included. The light source is an integrated LED module running on a universal driver, rated at 50,000 hours, and WAC builds it as a replaceable LED engine rather than a sealed throwaway board. For an MRO or property group that matters: the fixture can be serviced instead of scrapped at end of life.
8) How is the hanging height set on the WAC Super Star pendant?
It is a ceiling-mounted hardwired pendant suspended on an electrified cable, and the canopy uses push-pin connectors so the cable length can be shortened at install without cutting and re-terminating conductors. Mounting steps and the canopy detail are covered in WAC's installation guide at https://zensupply.com/content/pdf/wac-lighting/installation-guide-fb851a.pdf.
9) Is the Super Star pendant good enough light quality for a dining room or retail display?
It is a CRI 90 LED engine with a flood beam spread, so color rendering is high enough for food, skin tones, and merchandise, and the distribution is broad rather than a tight spot. Crystal facets throw sparkle, but the underlying light is general illumination over a table or island, not accent aiming.
10) What is the Super Star pendant actually made of, and will the crystals look the same on every unit?
The body is aluminum with brass accents, carrying clear faceted K5 Crystal elements. Each crystal rotates individually, so the sparkle pattern is set by whoever installs it rather than fixed at the factory. Two fixtures in the same room can be dialed to match, or deliberately varied.
