WAC Lighting PD-99450-27-BK – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can the WAC Bastone PD-994 linear pendant run on 277V in a commercial building?
Yes. The Bastone PD-994 ships with a universal input voltage driver covering 120V, 240V and 277V, so the same fixture works on a residential 120V circuit or a 277V commercial lighting branch with no separate transformer or alternate part number.
2) What dimmer works with the Bastone PD-994 LED pendant?
It accepts 0-10V, ELV, or TRIAC dimming, so you can pair it with a standard forward/reverse-phase wall dimmer on a 120V residential job or tie it into a 0-10V control system on a commercial one. Confirm the dimmer's minimum load will see the 36W draw of this fixture if it is alone on the circuit.
3) Do I have to order a separate color temperature, or can I set it in the field?
Both. The Bastone pendant has built-in 4-CCT adjustability at 2700K, 3000K, 3500K and 4000K, selectable at the fixture, and it is also offered pre-selected by CCT when ordering. For a property standardizing across a building, order the CCT you use everywhere else; for a spec job where the designer may change their mind, the field switch covers you.
4) Can the Bastone PD-994 pendant go over a kitchen sink or in a covered exterior entry?
It is ETL and cETL Listed for Damp Locations, which covers a kitchen or bath where humidity is present and covered exterior soffits or porches not subject to direct water. It is not a wet-location fixture, so do not use it anywhere it can be rained on or hosed down.
5) Is the Bastone PD-994 hardwired, and what mounting does it need?
Hardwired and ceiling mounted. There is no plug or cord set, so it needs a junction box with a supported ceiling canopy at the mounting point and a licensed electrician on commercial work. Budget for the box relocation if you are moving the fixture off an existing outlet.
6) If the LEDs fail, does the whole Bastone pendant get replaced?
No. The LED module in the Bastone pendant is replaceable, rated at 50,000 hours. For an MRO or hospitality buyer that matters, since you service the module rather than pulling and rehanging the whole fixture when output drops off.
7) Is 2000 lumens enough for a dining table or kitchen island?
The Bastone puts out 2000 lumens total at 36W, split up and down from the rectangular body, so part of that output washes the ceiling rather than hitting the counter. Treated as ambient light over a dining table it works well. If you need task-level light on a work island, plan on supplementing with undercabinet or recessed downlights.
8) Does the Bastone PD-994 meet California Title 24 for a residential lighting permit?
Yes, the PD-994 is listed as CEC Title 24 compliant. It is not Energy Star certified, so if a rebate program specifically requires Energy Star this fixture will not qualify for it.
9) What finishes does the Bastone 4-CCT pendant come in, and what is the shade made of?
Two finishes, Black and Brushed Nickel, both on an aluminum housing. The light passes through an etched acrylic lampshade rather than glass, which diffuses the LED without hot spots and is less of a liability over a dining table in a rental or hospitality space.
10) Is the 90 CRI on this pendant good enough for restaurant or retail use?
90 CRI is in the range designers specify for hospitality and food service, where skin tones and plated food have to read correctly. Combined with the 2700K through 4000K selectable range, you can match a warm dining room or push cooler for a retail display using the same fixture.
11) Is the WAC Bastone pendant ADA compliant?
No. The PD-994 is not ADA compliant, which is expected for a suspended pendant. ADA protrusion limits apply to wall-mounted fixtures in circulation paths, so for a corridor or stair landing in a public building choose a wall sconce with an ADA listing instead.
