1) Can the Modern Forms Zephyr 5 ceiling fan be installed on a covered patio or open porch?
Yes. The Zephyr 5 is Wet Location rated and carries UL, cUL, CSA, ETL and cETL listings, so it can go on a covered patio, porch, or other outdoor living space as well as indoors. Wet rating means direct exposure to rain and splashing is acceptable, which is a step above the damp-only fans commonly sold for porch use.
2) Will the Zephyr 5 fan mount on a sloped ceiling?
Out of the box the Zephyr 5 handles slopes up to 30 degrees. For a pitch between 32 and 45 degrees you need the XF-SCK Slope Ceiling Kit, ordered separately. An 8 inch downrod ships with the fan; taller ceilings take a longer downrod, also sold separately.
3) Does the Modern Forms Zephyr 5 come with a wall control, or just a remote?
A battery-operated Bluetooth remote with a wall cradle is included (Part No. F-RCBT-WT). The hardwired Bluetooth wall control, Part No. F-WCBT-WT, is not included and is ordered separately. That hardwired control is what you need if the job calls for 3-way or 4-way switching.
4) Can I change the light color temperature on the Zephyr 5 after it is installed?
Yes. The integrated LED luminaire is selectable across 2700K, 3000K, 4000K and 5000K, so one fan can be set warm for a bedroom or cool for a work-oriented space. It renders at 90 CRI, draws 54W total, dims smoothly, and is rated for 50,000 hours. If you do not want light at all, a light cap ships with the fan to close off the luminaire.
5) If the LED light module in the Zephyr 5 fails, do I have to replace the whole fan?
No. The LED luminaire on the Zephyr 5 is a replaceable module powered by WAC Lighting, not a sealed-in array, so the light can be serviced without pulling the fan down. It is an LED module rather than a socketed lamp, so there is no standard bulb to swap.
