WAC Lighting F-068L-MB – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Can the WAC Blitzen 60 inch ceiling fan be installed on a covered patio or porch?
Yes. The Blitzen F-068L carries a Wet location rating and is listed for indoor or outdoor use, so covered porches, patios and other exposed-but-sheltered locations are within its rating. Blades are ABS and the base is aluminum, both chosen for damp and wet exposure rather than a wood-blade indoor-only build.
2) Will this 60 inch WAC fan work on a sloped or vaulted ceiling?
Yes, the Blitzen is sloped ceiling compatible. It is a downrod-mount fan with a 6 inch canopy and an overall fixture height of 15.2 inches, so plan your downrod length around the ceiling pitch and the blade clearance you need at the low side of the sweep.
3) Does the Blitzen smart fan come with a light, and can the LED be replaced later?
A light kit is included and it is an integrated LED, single light source, rated 1600 lumens at 3000K with downlight only. Because it is integrated rather than lamped, there is no bulb to change; the LED is rated for an average 50,000 hours. The kit is dimmable, and the fan is also light kit adaptable.
4) Does this WAC fan meet California Title 24 and Title 20 for a new build?
Yes on both. The Blitzen is listed Title 24 compliant and Title 20 compliant, and it is ADA compliant. It is not an Energy Star rated fan, so if a specification calls specifically for Energy Star, this one will not satisfy that line item.
5) How big a room does a 60 inch 3-blade Blitzen fan cover?
Blade span is 60 inches with 24.02 inch blades, which puts it in great-room, primary-bedroom and large-patio territory rather than a small bedroom or bath. The DC motor runs six speeds and is reversible, so you can drop it to a low setting for winter updraft in the same space.
6) What electrical rough-in does the WAC F-068L need, and how much load does it draw?
Standard 120V supply. Total fixture wattage is 37.5W, so it is a light load on a general lighting or receptacle circuit. The fan ships with 80 inches of wire lead from the canopy, which is enough slack for typical downrod runs on a flat or pitched ceiling.
7) Do I need to buy a remote or wall control for the Blitzen fan?
No separate control purchase is needed to operate it. A remote is included, and a canopy cap is included as well for installations where you are not using a downrod extension. The fan runs on six speeds with a reversible DC motor.
8) What finishes does the WAC Blitzen 60 inch fan come in?
Two: Matte Black and Matte White. Order the Matte Black as F-060L-MB and the Matte White as F-060L-MW. Blade finish follows the body on each, and the blades are not reversible, so there is no second blade color to flip to.
9) Why choose a DC motor fan like the Blitzen over a standard AC ceiling fan?
The DC motor is what gives this fan six discrete speeds and reversibility for seasonal airflow, and it pulls only 37.5W total including the LED light. For a property manager running several large-span fans on a lobby or amenity space, that matters more than it does on a single residential install.
