1) What size hole does the Metallics QB2 Quik-Bit drill?
The QB2 is a 5/16 inch flat wood boring bit, so it cuts a 5/16 inch hole in wood. Overall length is 6 inches, which is the usual short flat-bit length for boring through single studs and plates rather than deep stacked framing.
2) Will a 5/16 inch bored hole be big enough for the cable I am pulling?
A 5/16 inch hole is on the small side. It suits small-diameter runs such as single low-voltage, thermostat, alarm or speaker cable. For 14/2 or 12/2 NM-B you normally bore 3/4 inch or larger, so the QB2 is the wrong size for standard branch-circuit romex.
3) Is the Metallics QB2 wood bit for drilling metal studs or wood framing?
Wood only. The QB2 is a flat spade-type wood bit, meant for boring through wood studs, joists and plates to run cable. For steel studs you want a step bit or hole saw instead, not a flat wood bit.
4) How many bits come in the Metallics QB2 and how is it packaged?
