American Standard Round 30-Inch Shower Slide Bar - AMS-1660330

What's described here is the bar itself with its adjustable bracket and round wall flanges. The handheld spray head and hose are separate items, so if you're outfitting a tub or shower from scratch plan on ordering a personal shower and hose alongside it.

The bar is 30 inches of travel, which gives a wide adjustment range for users of different heights sharing one bath, common in apartments, hotels and assisted-living units. It is a slide bar only, not a grab bar, and it is not rated to support body weight. If your opening needs a code-compliant grab bar, specify a separate ADA grab bar for that.

Match on three things: the 30-inch bar length, the round flange shape, and the chrome finish. Slide bars vary in flange profile (round vs square) and length, so a square-flange bar of a different length will leave different wall marks and sit at a different height. If the existing units are round-flange chrome 30-inch American Standard bars, part 1660330.002 is the like-for-like replacement.

It's a 30-inch round shower slide bar for shower and tub applications. The bar mounts to the wall and carries an adjustable bracket that holds a handheld (personal) shower, so the spray height can be moved up or down along the bar without re-plumbing anything. The wall flanges are round.

Both. The 1660330 is listed for shower and tub use, so it works over a tub deck for bathing and rinsing as well as in a standalone shower. Mounting height is what changes between the two, not the bar.

The bracket is an adjustable holder sized for personal shower heads, and handheld showers connect to their hose on the standard 1/2-inch hose thread rather than to the bar itself. The variable is bracket cradle size and the diameter of the handheld's handle, so pair it with a standard American Standard personal shower for a clean fit.
